Blake Shelton - Hell Right (ft. Trace Adkins) [Behind The Scenes] chords
Start Jamming...
She's been in here for every vocal.
That's right.
Tell me if it sounds weird, okay?
Let's turn these crickets up even more.
[A]
[D] Yeah?
[D]
[A] Tell me when.
Couple boys clocked out about 5 [A].35, tryin' to put a little hammer in [D] their head.
Standin' in the liquor [Dm] store, starin' at a fit, but they [D] picked up a handle [D] instead.
Hell right.
[A]
Hell right.
[D] When I heard [Dm] Hell Right for the first time, I made it about three quarters of the way through the song.
And [G] I knew I wanted to record the song.
And I instantly [D] knew I wanted Trace on it with me.
And I [C] haven't had that feeling since we recorded [D] Hillbilly Bone together.
It's just, there was something about this song that just said, [G] it just screamed Trace Atkins.
[D]
[Bm] Hell right.
[G] Hell right.
[D] Everybody's goin' down on a Friday night [Bm] somewhere.
You know, we [E] knew that Hell Right was a special song.
And I felt like if we [Em] rushed, this could still be a [D] summertime single this year.
And so we cut the track, made sure that it was what we wanted.
I went in and recorded my vocal in [Bm] Oklahoma.
I [G] think if you did it halfway, [D] you're gonna race hell when you're fatter down.
Race [Bm] hell right.
[G] Hell right.
Hell [A] right.
[D]
[Dm] [D]
So we're done with this one.
Then it was a matter of figuring out how to get Trace [Dm] on there.
And so I called him, I said, man, I got this song, I [Bm] need you to be on it.
He said, well, [D] I'm busy.
You know, whatever he said.
And so we went back and forth and we finally found a day that would work.
He had to come to Los Angeles.
And so he came in and he did exactly what I had envisioned in my mind,
which was he was Trace Atkins.
Man, this is L.A. Get used [D] to it.
You can live out here if you want to.
Trace has the best ad libs of anybody in the [B] industry.
Just the things that he says, how dry he is,
and [D] that big, deep sounding voice that he has that you just can't ignore.
[Bm] [D]
Bang, bang, bang, bang.
Trace has this thing about him, especially when he's in the zone,
that nobody could ever even [G] get close to touching Trace's [A] personality.
He is one of a kind.
I [D] could do that minor descending line on there instead of [G] singing the unison with him.
[B]
You mean I knocked him down?
Everybody's passed out drunk, but when they wake [Ab] up, they all gonna hurt like [D] hell right.
Oh, I want to hear that.
God gave him that talent, and man, when he comes with it and he's into the song,
he can literally take the song to the next level, and that's [Bm] what he did with Hell Right.
[G]
[Dm] [B] This is a [Dm] song about a lesson in life.
If you're going to raise hell, then you better damn [Bm] well [G] raise hell right.
And [D] nobody better than Trace Atkins to deliver that message because you can't ignore him.
The only thing [N] I see here that I forgot about is that, whoo, right before the first chorus.
Get your tracks set up.
You like my whoo?
Or should it be a yee-haw?
No.
A whoo?
Sounded [D] kind of like Nature Boy Ric Flair.
Oh, man, I miss him.
Whoo!
[Bm] Hell right.
Hell right.
[A] That's all I need.
It's so good.
I can do a pretty good whoo.
[D]
Yeah.
You like it?
I did.
Do [A] you like it, Trace?
I like Jerry [Em] Clark better.
[D] That personality to this song makes it that much more fun.
It's like, hey, you better be serious about [D] having fun, damn it.
