[E] Hey Ian, this is Brett with Maui Music Lessons.
Today we're gonna work on [A] the intro and the
verse progression [F#m] for Simple Love Song by Anuhea.
[C] So we've [A] started on an A major chord,
[F#m] F sharp minor, [A] an A, [F#m] F sharp minor, then a B minor [Bm] 7, [E] followed by an E7, then [A] back to the A,
[E] back to the E7.
So [Am] that's the whole thing, but what we're gonna look at is a good way to transition
between each [A] chord.
The A is pretty easy going to the F sharp minor, right, because you just
add the ring finger.
So that's a giveaway.
[F#m] But going from this to the B minor 7 is a [Bm] little
bit tricky.
Just remember to aim for the second fret, and where you look is where your hand's
gonna go.
So when you're [F#m] at the F sharp minor, [C] visually look at the middle of the second [Bm] fret
for now, and then [D] you'll get that B minor 7 perfectly.
Now when you want to go to the E7
from here, what [E] I would do is just slide your pointer finger down to the first fret, and then
add these other two strings.
[Bm] So I went [E] slide and then add.
And then from the E7 going to the A,
[C#] keep the ring finger down while [A] you switch the pointer finger and middle finger.
[E] Okay, so I'll do that one more time.
From the E [A] to the A, and then when you want to go back to the
E7, drop the ring finger [E] first and then switch them up.
So now we'll go through this progression
one more time slow, and one more time regular.
One, [A] two, three, F
[F#m] sharp minor,
[Bm] B minor 7, [E]
[A] E7.
[E]
Okay, now we'll try it full speed.
Make sure you just practice that lower speed until you feel
it's totally comfortable, and once it's comfortable to the point of being ridiculously easy,
then move on to this [A] full speed one.
One, two, three.
[F#m] [Bm] [E]
[A] [E] Okay, so that's it!
Have fun practicing!
