Start Jamming...
Hey guys, it's Faith.
Welcome back to my channel and today I'm gonna be teaching you guys how to play you say by Lauren Daigle
This is literally the easiest song I've ever learned how to play.
It's super easy super basic and
So I hope that this tutorial helps
So I'm gonna start off by going through the intro.
I don't do a fancy intro or anything
I just go through the chord progression once and then go into the verse.
So this song is in the key of F
You're only gonna need four chords F major
Which I play F major inverted which is C
F and A and then F on the bass note and then you're gonna need a
minor
[Am]
which is just a C and
[A] E and A on the bass note [Am] and then D minor [D] inverted which is just a
D minor [Dm] F and then D on the bass note and B [Bb] flat which is B flat
And F and B flat in the bass note
And sometimes I play the fifth note
For the simplicity of this tutorial.
I'll just be playing the bass note B flat
So [Ab] now I'm gonna show you guys the chord progression that you're gonna play through the entire [F] song.
It's the same exact thing
So you're gonna start off by playing F for four beats one two
Four A minor [Am] one two three four [Dm] D minor one two three
Four then [Bb] B flat one two three four one two three
So that's how I play the intro and that's the [D] same chord progression throughout the whole entire
Song so I'm gonna go through the intro one more time
[F]
F one two three four a [Am] minor
two three four [Dm] D minor one [D] two three four B flat [Bb] one two
Three four and I'll hold that up for another four counts
Before I go into the verse the first verse so I'm gonna try to go through the verse
And I'll sing along with it to the best of my ability
This is not the key that I sing it in if you haven't seen my cover
I'll have it linked in the description box down below
[F] But I sing it in the key of F.
So I'll try my best
I keep fighting voices in my [Am] mind say I'm not [Dm] enough
[Bb]
[F] Every single line tells me [Am] I'll never measure [Dm] up
[Bb]
[F] Am I more than just the sum of every [Am] high and every [Dm] low
[Bb]
[F] But mommy once again just who [Am] I am because I need to [Dm] know
[Bb]
So that's the the verse so I'm gonna run through that
Show you guys how to play it.
It's the exact same thing as the intro
Except you only hold the B flat for four beats [Ab] going into the course
so
[F] It's F one two three four [Am] a minor one two three [Dm] four D minor one
Two three four B [Bb] flat one two three four
So that's what you do for the verse.
[G] So now I'm gonna go through [N] the course
I'm gonna try to sing along with it
Like I said not the key I sing it in
But I'm just gonna go through to give you a feel of what it's supposed to sound like
But I'm gonna go through the last part of the verse and lead into the chorus to show you how you're supposed to do that
[F] Mommy once again, just who [Am] I am because I need to [Dm] know
going into the course
[Bb]
You say I [F] am loved
When I can't feel [Am] a thing
You say I am [Dm] strong
When I think I am [Bb] weak
You say [F] I am
When I have fallen short
[Am]
And when I don't belong
[Dm]
You say I [Bb] am yours
And I [F] believe
Yes, I [Am] believe
What you say of [Dm] me?
Oh
[Bb] Believe
And I hold the B flat for eight counts before going into the next verse
So [G] that's how you do the course super simple same exact thing as the verse in the intro
Like I said, it was a pretty basic song
So I hope this tutorial helped you guys if it did let me know by giving this video a thumbs up and don't forget
