Hey guys, welcome to the channel super excited to teach you one of my favorites [Em] today you say by Lauren Diego
She's a beautiful artist [Am] that has such amazing words with amazing content [F] in them
So I hope you really enjoy this style of playing its [C] accompaniment.
So it's super simple.
Let's get started
[Em] You say by Lauren Diego has a beautiful piece.
It has four chords that [F] we're gonna focus on
C [C] E minor a minor and F it is in [Em] this key of C
So we're gonna do a one to two ratio and I'll explain that [Am] here in a minute
So we're gonna just go over what [C] the four chords are and if you have not taken basics to our piano
We have a video that kind of goes over the black notes the white notes and what the number
[Ab] And what the names that the notes are?
We're gonna find a C by coming to the left of the two black notes and that is a C note
And if we put one three and five on that note C, that's a C chord
okay, all [Em] right, so then we're gonna find an E minor and
Typically we're gonna just go C D E and then this would be an E minor fingers one three five on E
G and B, but for the case of this song and just
How simple it could be if you play it a little bit different we're gonna actually play it right here
Okay, so we're gonna start it out with the B E and G
So all it is is taking
the B from the top of the chord and moving it to the bottom and that'll create a lot of flexibility in your
music in this song and
You know, we've developed this whole course
So if that makes no sense to you and you want to kind of be able to learn [Am] what that is the theory behind it
About what minors are and what majors are we have a whole course that you could check out in the description below as well
All right, then we got an A minor
and we're gonna play it right here because we find a
[B] Kind of be tucked in between these three [Am] black notes in a musical alphabet.
It goes a B C D E
F G and it repeats itself.
So that's why we have an A here
It's right before the C right just like in our alphabet.
All right, and then for an F
We're gonna [F] go down here find an F and it's just kind of right by these three black notes
And that's F A C.
All right, so let's go back and do those four [C] chords
C chord remember we're gonna play our E minor.
[B] All we're gonna do is actually move our thumb [Em] open to this B
Then we're gonna play an A [Am] minor and then we're gonna play an F
[F] That takes care of our right hand for us super simple [Bb] and then our left hand
[C] I'm just gonna kind of camp out here with my thumb on C
And when my left hand is gonna play a single note
My right hand is gonna play a chord and that's what the one to two ratio is.
So
We're gonna find a C note down here.
Just right by coming to those two black notes then for our E minor
We're gonna just open up our thumb
[E] C D E play our E minor there and then for our A [A] minor we're gonna play our A note and [F] then for our F
We're gonna play an F note.
[C] So really here's our C
[E] open up for our E minor [Am] a finger 3
[F] F our little pinky
Alright, so your left hand can camp out here this [Gb] whole piece and not have to move which is really fun
To be able to play more things with your right hand All right
So a one to two ratio is going to make sense to you for those of you who have a little bit of music background
It's gonna fit into our 4-4 time signature really well
So when our single note in the left hand is played our right hand is [C] gonna play a chord
Like that, so if we're gonna play a C, we're gonna play single note chord on our right hand
Then if we're gonna play an E minor
Like I said, we're gonna open up here to the E minor [Em] and here's gonna be our E minor
For our right hand then [Am] a minor and then our [F] F and I'm just gonna go through that a little [C] bit
So you can follow along with me C
Open up that [Em] thumb E minor a
[Am]
[F] F and that makes up the whole piece
Versus if you know anything about music [C] versus just kind of repeat themselves
They don't really deviate from the chord progression and the chorus is always the same kind of progression as well
So once you learn the verse once you're gonna be able to obviously learn all three verses really simply
We're gonna do a one to two ratio and we're gonna go like this together then just our right hand by itself
Together just our right hand by itself.
Then we're gonna do it E minor
[Em]
[Am] together
right
together
[F] Right and then to our F together, right?
Together
Right.
Okay, and for the most part that's gonna be kind of your rhythm.
You're gonna go that [Db] Dom bum bum
And that just gives you a real basic way to play this piece
If you want to kind of learn more ways to learn arrangements [Abm] and variations and riffs and how to add in the melody line
That that's where our course comes in and it goes through the basics
But then it really moves into adding musical tools and your tool belt.
It's super fun
So, alright, let's get going and you could just [C] follow along when we go I keep fighting voices in my [Em] mind
[Am] [F]
[C] Every single lie that [Em] tells me I will never measure
[Am] [F]
[C] Him I'm more than just the [Em] sum of every high and every [Am] low
Oh
[F]
[C] Remind me once again just [Em] who I am because I need [Am] to know
[F]
And then the chorus is just real simple again
You're gonna just go into the C E minor [C] a F and repeat themselves
So you're just kind of changing the way in which you play the chords you say I am loved
When I can't feel a [Em] thing
You say I [Am] am strong
When I think I [F] am weak
You say I [C] am held
When I am [Em] falling short
And when I [Am] don't belong
You say [F] I am yours
And [C] I believe
Oh, [Em] I believe
What you [Am] say of me
[F] Yes, I believe
[C] The only thing that [Em] matters now is everything you [Am] think of me
[F] [C] In you I find my worth in [Em] you I find my identity
[Am]
[F] Oh
And you say I am [C] loved when I can't [Em] feel a thing
You say [Am] I am strong
When I think [F] I am weak and you say [C] I am held
When I am [Em] falling short
And when I [Am] don't belong
You say [F] I am yours
And [C] I believe
Oh, and [Em] I believe
What you [Am] say
Of me, [F] yes, I believe
[C]
Taking all I have [Em] and now I'm laying it all [Am] at your feet
[F] [C]
You'll love every failure [Em] God and you'll love every victory
[Am]
[F] Oh
And you say [C] I am loved
When I can't [Em] feel a thing
And you say [Am] I am strong
When I think [F] I am weak and you say [C] I am held
When I am [Em] falling short
And when I [Am] don't belong
You say [F] I am yours
And [C] I believe
Yeah
[Em] What you [Am] say of me [F] yes, I believe
[C] All right guys, thanks for watching
Hope that was a real blessing to you to be able to learn how to play just for [Em] this simple enjoyment of playing

Open up that [Em] thumb E minor a
_ [Am] _
[F] F and that makes up the whole piece
Versus if you know anything about music [C] versus just kind of repeat themselves

So once you learn the verse once you're gonna be able to obviously learn all three verses really simply
We're gonna do a one to two ratio and we're gonna go like this together then just our right hand by itself
Together just our right hand by itself.
Then we're gonna do it E minor
[Em] _
_ _ _ _ [Am] together
right
So, alright, let's get going and you could just [C] follow along when we go I keep fighting voices in my [Em] mind _
