[F] Grant me [Dm] serenity to accept [Bb] things, things I [F] cannot change.
I've spoken to so many different girls [Dm] all around the world in my [Bb] travels and just after [F] shows
and one of the big things that comes back over and over again is that they feel such a struggle [Dm] with the issue of beauty
[Bb] and their own personal beauty and are [C] they beautiful and can they attain [Dm] that.
[F] Beauty and self-image, that's been something that I've struggled with in my life.
[C] Especially doing so many [Gm] photo shoots since I was like 16 and [Bb] just being [F] up in front of a lot of people
I think that's expanded even the pressure [C] that all of us women feel [Gm] in this area at certain points in our lives.
I [Dm] remember it got to the [F] extreme at one stage where I looked at myself in the mirror
and I felt such compassion for how critical and how harsh I had [Dm] been on myself
that I just [F] wept and apologized to myself for being just so wrong.
I think [Dm] it's good to take care of our bodies and to be healthy
[F] but when it becomes an obsession it actually makes our souls ugly.
[C] I'm wearing [Dm] the sip and [F] shine,
[C] [Dm] strings I can [Bb] play.
[F] Self-image has been something I've really wrestled with and the thing that God's really been [C] teaching me
is that the true kind of beauty, the [Gm] kind that he really wants for [F] me
is the kind that comes from my soul, comes from my heart and it's the kind that only he [C] can give.
He can take even our struggle [Gm] with the topic of beauty [Dm] and self-image [Bb] and draw us closer to him [F] through it.
That promise that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord and accord according [Bb] to his purpose.
[F] God brings beauty [C] from ashes.
[Dm] He can take [Bb] a really challenging [F] situation in our lives, [C] a really painful situation,
even [Bb] our struggle with beauty [F] itself and [C] bring good out of it.
That [Dm] whole [Bb] Ecclesiastes idea of [F] you make [C] everything beautiful in your time.
Lord, that's [Bb] such an encouragement to me.
He [F] makes [C] everything, even pain, beautiful in his time.
[F]
You make [Bb] everything, everything, yeah.
[F] You make everything, everything [Gm] beautiful in its [Dm] time, in your [Bb] time.
It's beautiful.
