All right, so you have, or you can consider it a G major chord or a G major 7, because
you have the 7 that's in the scale and that's all.
There it is right there.
[C]
So you have a C [Em] major 7, okay?
[G#] If you put all of [C] those notes together, [G] that F sharp
[F#m] and that A, [Am] you have a C major [C] 13.
It's a C major [Am] 13 sharp 11, [F#] because [G#] that would be an 11 in [C] the key of [E] C.
[F] [C] [Dm]
[D] [C] So
[B] this would be an [G] 11, that would be a sharp [C] 11.
And you call it major because you're using the major 7, so this is the 13.
The 6 becomes a 13 octave out.
[Em]
So that's if you were counting this, otherwise [C] the chord is simply a [Em] C major 7 and you just
have that little melodic line.
[G] [D]
[G] Okay, that's just a D sus 4, D suspended 4, and then it [D] resolves to a D major.
And you get back to your [G] G major, [A]
or G major [E] add [G] 9.
So if you add [B] the 2, it's called [G] a G major add 9.
Okay, [F] that's just like [G] the intro.
[C] [G] C,
[D] [Cm] [G]
[C] [G] C major [Em] before the [C] G.
[G]
[A] All right, then it's, [C] [G] this is the, in the key of G,
[C] that would be a 4 chord, a C major
over [D] a D.
So now it's a [C] 5, so it's like 4 over 5 if you were using a Roman numeral.
[G] [C] You are my [G] strength, G9, strength like [C] no other.
That's a C add 9.
Strength like [D] no other.
That's the D sus, to the G major.
[Bm] [G] Okay, and that repeats.
And then the other part is, [C] in the fullness of your grace, that's a 4.
In the power, in the power, [Em] in the power of your name, that's a 6, which would be an E minor.
[G] That's a 1, which would be a G [A] major, add [G] 9.
[D] That's a D [F#m] major, add 9.
All major chords have a nice little [D] flavor to them if you [Am] add the 9, you [D] know, just the
major triad, [A] and add the 9.
[C] In the fullness of your [F#m] grace.
[C] [F#m] That's just a 5 over a 4, a [D] D over the C,
[C] and you resolve it to the 4, regular 4.
In the [Em] power of your name, 6, you lift [D]
me [G] up.
Okay, it's like [D] hitting a 5, which is the D [G] major, and then going to the G, but instead
of having the [D] 5 at the bottom, you have the F sharp, which would be the 7 in this key,
at the bottom, [G] and then going to the 1.
Lift me up,
[C] 4.
You lift [G] me up, that's a [D] 5.
In [C] the fullness of your grace, in the [Em]
power of your [D] name, [G]
[C] you lift me [D] up.
[G]
That G, add 9, okay, if you take the 3rd out, it's just called a G sus 2, and then that
makes, when you put the 5 at the top and the bottom, and you have the 1 and the 2, it makes
for a nice little motif that you can play over your chords.
