You are promoting your Willie Porter Available Light CD that is brand spanking new within
the last month or so.
It's pretty exciting, isn't it?
It's great fun.
So, yeah, thank you for coming out tonight and supporting that record.
Yeah.
Oh, absolutely.
This is a New England tour that you're doing for this two weeks where you're traveling
with a band and this is very, very exciting.
It's a different sound for you, those of us who are used to seeing you play on your own,
which you do an incredible job of, but seeing you with a band backed up is just another
side of you and adds a lot of spunk and enthusiasm to the rest of the music too.
How did you hook up with your bandmates?
They are all studio musicians that live in Wisconsin where I live and David Adler, the
keyboard player, has been with me for, I guess, four records now, off and on.
He's a great arranger and a great player, obviously.
Steve Kleiber was in a band that I [Ab] had back in 1993, so it's been a while.
Dave Shepke is a guy that I stumbled on who's been playing with a bunch of different bands
in Milwaukee and he's a great session player, great studio player.
So, as luck would have it, we all get along and it's just been a blast.
We all recorded this record together and I just love these guys, you know, I would do
anything for them and I think it's the first time, you know, I've always had great bands,
I thought, but this is the first time I feel like I can get in the van with everybody and
travel and no one's going to whine about how their shoes are fitting or whatever.
It's all going to work out.
