Dollboy did one, did their trumpets in sort of an electro [Ab] style.

Let's Wrestle did Tiny Town, which was also slightly, songwriterly wise was improved.

Thin [Em] Lizzy style guitar break.
Oh, wow.
[Gb] [Ab] Yeah, Piano Magic version of Mr.
Song, which sounds really good.
Oh yeah.
[D] A group called [Gb] Pastorelle have done a version of the song Dunce, which is really good.
Comet Gain have done Four Letter Word.
Again, in fact, they've changed Four Letter Word as well, made it simpler and probably better.
Right, so there's a lot of young bands who have done your songs?
Yeah, young and old.
Not [G] just all the people that I grew up with.

Who are second language?
Well, they're Glenn, Glenn Johnson, who used to run Tugboat, Rough Trade.
[A] [C] From Rough Trade, David Shepherd, mojo journalist.
[B] And you wrote that Eno book?
And he wrote the Eno book, yeah.
[C] And Martin Holm, the Danish [F] musician.
[Gb] So, yeah, it's a thrill.
They want to make something which is kind of finite.
And also, I think it's quite nice that it exists, and when it's gone, it's gone.
I think with things being digital, I mean, everybody that's had an MP3 on their computer,
you take it from a file, put it on your desktop, send it in an email,
and suddenly you've got three clones of the same track over and over and over.
Obviously, endlessly, you can clone the same piece of music.
But what's [B] nice about this is when it sells, when it's gone, it's gone.
And there aren't any more copies of it.
Yeah, I agree.
So [G] that's a nice thing.
And it's the same when you do a gig and [Eb] you don't record the gig.
It's kind of quite nice that it exists for that moment in time and then it's gone.

So you've just [Gb] come back from a gig in Paris, a solo gig?
Yeah, yeah.
So I did it with Ben [Eb] Phillipson, I played at Comet Gain, [E] I think, the day of May.
So we both played on a balcony.
You [Gb] enter a competition and you [Eb] get in this, like, 30, 40 people get to be on this balcony
bit overlooking Montmarch.
[Em] We played a acoustic set [Gb] there.
It's pretty great.
So [E] the prize is to see you [Eb] play live?
Yeah, yeah.
Wow, that's amazing.
It's a good gig, really good gig, really fun.
It's the 7th CL, which I think is the 7th floor, so it's a website, part of the Pop News,
which is an online magazine in France.
Got a big online magazine in France.
So then they have that competition, they run that, and they run these gigs on the balcony.
So it's beautiful, it's lovely.
Are you [Gb] going to play any more dates with The Loft?
We're doing a Mark Riley session in a couple of [Ab] weeks, playing up in Preston.
We're going to do, we might do one night at the Lexington, [B] might do a live at the living room.
We're going to play with the Nightingales, The Loft and The Legend.
To [Eb] recreate a night that would have happened?
Yeah, [Gb] well that's the idea, possibly.
I think we might want a new band as well.
La La Vasquez is a band that we like, they were playing with us up in Preston before the Mark Riley session.
So, it's developed.
Because we played with Comet Gain and Veronica Falls a while ago, which was really nice as well.
So it was that thing that it wasn't just [G] middle-aged men.
[Ab] Solo gigs and this album are the main things you're doing at the moment?
Not main, the main things I'm doing is teaching and lecturing and researching.
That's probably the main thing that I do, and writing.
And that's my day job, that's what I do most of.
Researching popular music culture, stuff like that.
Teaching things, lecturing on things.
And also making [Bm] music.
