[D] So this was not the Speak Now drop I expected to see but it was one that happened yesterday.
[G] Taylor's team announced that the Speak Now merch would drop and we would finally get our first look
at what kind of merch we could wear as Speak Now Swifties and it was well underwhelming to say the
least and plenty of Swifties were voicing their displeasure in the comments.
Now I understand
it's sometimes easy to complain about things especially [E] when you have no idea what the merch
will look like but you do have an idea in your head of what ideal merch should look like but I
do gotta say this merch doesn't really seem to meet anyone's expectations.
It's just really
underwhelming and a lot of Swifties agree with me here.
I don't think this design has a ton going for
it.
I mean I really don't like how there's not a more unified design and they kind of just threw
together a bunch of mini Taylors.
I mean it's not horrific but for an era like Speak Now I'd imagine
something much more breathtaking and poignant like a serious, dare I say enchanted close-up of
her face or something even that shows the album art like past shirts and it's [N] not like that's too
difficult to design.
Honestly it's probably even simpler.
I mean I see this shirt from far away
and really have no idea what's going on.
Aesthetically it's almost like many characters of
Taylor take away from the Speak Now lettering aesthetic.
Like I'd honestly just rather have the
lettering and a simpler design like this custom made Nike shirt I wear sometimes but again that's
just my personal preference.
The other thing is we didn't get signed CDs or anything from
Wonderstruck, Taylor's version which is a fragrance you can still buy and I'll tag the product in this
video.
I obviously have no experience using it as a guide but I'm sure it smells divine just from her
description on Ellen all those years ago.
There's all kinds of stuff in there.
There's um it's it's
like it's got vanilla and amber and freesia also notes of peach and also raspberry.
But yeah I do
think Taylor has some room for improvement in her merch department.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the
Aeros merch although there were some good pieces.
The thing is she knows whatever she puts out will
probably still sell like wildfire, ha no joke yes as we've been dealing with the smoke from Canada
recently.
But yeah this wasn't the Speak Now drop I was really expecting and not the one that I'm
most excited for but also not the one I'm gonna be breaking my wallet on.
Hopefully we'll get some
better merch after the Speak Now era goes into full swing but let me know what you all thought
about this merch design and anything else down in the comments below and if you enjoy my coverage of
all things Taylor Swift be sure to like and subscribe and yes next video I'll be covering
