Back to C [A]
F
[E]
Here's where it really should be a [G#m] C over E right um so but to get [E] that
bass note there I've got to come back here behind where my capo is and put my [G#m] finger up there.
The
trick on this is that I have to make sure when I play that chord I don't ring the bottom out
um because then it turns it into a um well I don't know [E]
if you if you've got this note
really what you would ideally I'd play the chord like this so it's a true uh inversion of the C
chord [G#m]
but if you play it that way it becomes like a C major 7 with the inverted bass so anyway
I just try to just play the top of that chord when I [E] when I do that one um so come teach [A] our
souls to the F and I'm using my thumb to get that top top bass note [E] to [B] love you [E] at the end that was
a C over [B] G G [E] C um a little word about kind of what I'm doing with my right hand here I'm uh
I'm picking a little bit you know I'm uh I'm kind of doing a little melodic thing
so you put my pinky there to get that note that's
[A] [E]
[C#m]
[E] [A]
[Em] [B]
kind of just the the turnaround [E] just playing a
little melodic stuff down there at the bottom it's a [C#] really simple song guys you don't have
to finger pick it you can [E] also just [C#m]
[E] [A]
[E] just
[C#m] [E] play it like that
[B] especially if you got
a band behind you you can just kind of [E] let it be a little bit bigger the
[A] [E]
[B] [E]
main thing I think to
[N] remember with this song is just that it's a it's a prayer and it's a real simple [C#] one so
not letting it get too [N] fancy you know just kind of being um being kind of in the moment with it and
and leading it in the way that you would pray um and inviting people to pray with you as they
as they sing it um that's it I hope you uh hope you followed along um there's a chord chart that
you can download if you click below um go to my website and you can download that um if you got
