You know Wade Bowen's self-titled album has been a big hit with fans everywhere.
[Gm] One single from that project called West Texas Rain went number one on the Texas radio chart.
But [Bb] for Wade, it's a special tune for different reasons.
He sat down with us recently to give us [Gm] the story.
This song is, I started, I was born [Dm] and raised in Waco, Texas, but [Eb] [Bb] I went to college in Lubbock.
And so I didn't know anything about West Texas, [Gm] obviously, until I got out there.
And it's a whole other [F] thing.
It's different out there.
It's [Bb] something about the people and the weather and everything is just different from central Texas and the way [Ab] I grew [Gm] up.
And, you know, I was going to school and started the band out there, started playing music out there, started [Bb] writing songs out there.
And that's where all of this began for me a [Gm] long time ago.
I just looking back on those days till now, I just figured it was about [Dm] time for me to tie the [Eb] two together.
And this [Bb] is this is one of, you know, I feel like the easiest [Gm] way for me to write songs is to just be as honest as possible.
And this is [Am] one of those.
[F] It's just time flies by as [Bb] quickly as the West Texas rain does because it doesn't last long out there at all.
