He had a lot of fabulous tone.
He sounded like a nice
belting high-range Paul Rogers.
Most of the time he didn't push quite that hard.
Now, I have a
lower register than he does, so I have to push a little bit harder to get up top like that.
[F] I remember you baby like a sweet summer song.
You know, he's got that real _ coverdale, again,
Paul Rogers, all the singers that I've come to know and love.
Now, if you notice too, he keeps a
pretty thin sound up top.
He doesn't carry the girth that I'm carrying up top with me.
Now, I can
thin my sound out a little bit more than that, but not much because I have a bigger sound or a more
girthy sort of sound on the bottom.
But it's really fun to hear because it's really soulful and it's
not so much about, you know, singing perfect as it is about the soul of the song and some pretty
hard notes too.
