[N] what's up terabytes?
i'm tara with tara simons studios and today for the first time i'm gonna be reacting to
laureen singing euphoria this is the 2012 eurovision song contest you guys have been
asking for this and asking for this i've never heard of her sorry and i've not heard of this
song that she's singing so um maybe that'll change once i hear it i don't know but this
is my first live candid reaction make sure you subscribe this channel click that notifications
button hit that bell check out the description box below because if you're a singer or [G#m] even have
any inkling or desire at some point in life to become a singer or get better you're gonna want
to check out all of those links they are there [C] just for you let's go [N]
she's [B] from sweden together [Bm] nice
[C#] [A]
[G] [Bm] [C#]
[D] [Bm]
[F#m] [G]
[A] it's very like [Bm] characteristically beautiful
which [E] makes me heartbreak
i [D]
[F#m]
[E] [A] [D] love
[E] [A] [D]
[F#m] [E] this song i can't believe i didn't know she's [A] writing it
[D] [F#] [F#m] [E]
[A] [D] [G]
[N] okay let me give you some observations of what i'm seeing and hearing so far so first of all
she is no stranger to using her body smartly she uses it as part of um an entertainability right
but she's also using her body to help her with the notes notice she's very grounded and she's
she's keeping her head in line with her neck even when she moves from side to side like this and her
hands coming around like all of that brings power up from the ground up and that's what we're always
trying to do as singer singers not like reach up from down but down to up that grounded feeling
and that sensation is she's doing a beautiful job i love her tone already i love that she is so
masterful at her vowel placement i mean when she said that word fall and foria it just dropped and
locked it's like she could hold that note forever it just soars it's got such an open space in her
mouth and it's it's gorgeous i also there's a there's a certain breathy like atonal atonal
there's there's a certain breathy though like textured textured quality to her voice that's
really really nice and it even carries through it gets less as she goes higher but it carries
through still into her chest voice um which enables her to have a lighter more and more lightened sound
up at the top which is that soaring effect that you hear as she sings higher in her chest voice
all of what you've heard so far is really chest voice she's done a couple stylistic choices where
like she'll go like euphoria that little cry like that's a quick switch into head but for the most
part that's that's really not a note it's just sort of like a way to end a chest note that sounds
really cool and she's again masterful so far at creating [Bm] that space and creating that style let's
listen some more
[A] [G]
[Bm]
[D] [Bm]
[B] [G] [D]
[Bm] [D]
[F#m] [E]
[A] [D] oh
[F#m]
[E] [C#m] [A] [D]
[F#m] yes [E] [A]
[D] [F#m] [E] nice cry there [A] by [D] [N] the way it's really hard um those are staccatos the
which it takes a lot right if you give too much ab and change [G] your mouth at all you could end up
going flat or you could end up going sharp there's no time to tune [B] on something that's just one beat
like that like one staccato uh uh uh now i [N] have exercises and i'm sure a lot of other people have
exercises to help you train to keep that pitch right in the center but you would need to because
it's difficult especially when you're moving like that on stage when there's adrenaline
it's difficult to keep a same exact duplicate like carbon copy of a pitch when you're staccato
staccato staccato staccato and there's a lot of them but she's i've been listening this whole time
and so far she's been perfect at keeping that pitch exactly the same with every set of staccatos
she's done in the chorus so far not easy to do worth noting [F#m] i [C#m] love how she's on the floor guys i
love [D] i love singing on the floor sometimes i just get down [Bm] there [C#m] yes head voice
[D]
[F#m] [F#] gorgeous vowels [F#m] i just love her movement [D] she's not afraid to move
[C#m]
[A] [D] [F#m]
[E] [A] [D]
[F#m] [E] [A]
[D] love the variation there [F#m] [E] [B]
oh okay i [N] wish she wouldn't have breathed there i know that this is
the climax the height of the song and she's been moving a lot now there's another dancer in there
but i hate how she breathed there i wish you just see euphoria just keep it the way you've been doing
it sounds so good don't take a [E] breath there [F#] [A] [D] [F#] [F#m]
[E] [A] okay and [D]
[N] then she ended in head voice they're very
smart they like the change [G] oh [N] nice she's awesome okay laureen she's truly an artist like i love
how she's not scared i love how she's not scared to be her innermost complete self on a stage and
just like go after it you know sometimes guys you just gotta get on the floor you know like you know
i did i do i've done it i did it on x factor i've done it i'm i've done it you know sometimes just
standing is not enough and just like a musical theater when words aren't enough when when just
talking is enough they break out into songs sometimes when you're singing and movement
isn't enough you just gotta get down on the floor guys you just gotta do it and i love how she did
that beautiful singer amazing song amazing singer great performance overall i loved it very very
few things i could say about it like the breath nitpicky stuff um but really wonderful thank you
so much for asking me to react to her if you guys have not already check out the description box
below as instructed i'm a teacher you gotta listen to me kind of um i love you guys i'm so proud of
you make sure today that you spread faith not fear love not germs be a blessing in a stranger's life
