[Abm] Yo, what's good Tristan's and Tristfam?
Today we've got Blackpink kill this love music video
So I have seen them a lot lately actually just like slowly blowing up more so than they already are
Look, I'm not like I like kpop I jump in every once in a while
It's not something that's like highly requested on my channel to be honest
But there's a part of me that loves to check it out and to see what's going [D] on
And so I would love to check out this music video and see what is what's up here because I don't remember
Blackpink ever being this big like they're they're killing it right now
And so I would love to see what the hype is about
But before we get started be sure to check me out on Instagram
And Twitter, I don't know what that was.
I am incredibly.
Sorry.
Let's go.
And so just so y'all know
I don't know anybody's names.
I don't know what's going on
I have heard a few black pink songs that I really really liked but I don't follow them.
So this is pretty blind for me
Okay, okay
All right, this is hype already, okay
[F] [Bb]
[D] I love those little like that.
She's doing at the end of her phrases.
There's very interesting
[Bb]
[Gm]
[Dm]
So she's using tons of bellyache behind her sound bellyache is what I call when you kind of make this sound that's like oh
Sort of like an oh
Like your belly is really hurting you could call it lots of different things
You could call it a moan if you would like however, you want to think [Abm] about that
Think about that [G] and I am hearing behind that is a rather dark voice
[Gm] So So
Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh and sorry, of course, I don't know Korean my apologies
So I'm just gonna kind of repeat the melody
So she's getting sort of like a dark sound duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh and then adding that bellyache to it.
Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh
It's very sounds ridiculous.
It probably sounds ridiculous when I'm imitating it
But that's the general approach that she's going for you can have bellyache with a bright sound
Duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh or like a like she's doing a dark [Em] sound
But anyway, that's what she's doing here and it is fairly unique to combine [Gb] those two [Dm] flavors particularly for female artists, I think
She's [Bb] [Gm]
[D] [F]
[Bb] also fairly loud even though she's in a fairly low to mid-range part of her voice
[Gm] [Db] [D]
This [C] [F] [Bb] is really nice [Gm] this singer is really nice
[D]
[N] [D]
Okay
[Eb] [D]
Okay
They all actually have fairly dark and full sounding voices to a certain extent one of the singer who I just complimented actually had
A fairly bright voice, but also with lots of intensity, especially as she was going up and like that voice to me
I just love voices that sound like that that are bright and intense and in your face, especially in female voices
But we're not hearing and this might be stereotypical of me
But this sounds very and I'm sorry if this is the wrong thing to say
But I'm used to kpop girl groups being very cool sort of bubblegum poppy and that's definitely not what they're doing here
their voices are very dark and full sounding in a lot of different ways and
It's a very intense in-your-face hard-hitting song that a lot of the male groups tend to do and again
I'm sorry if I'm saying something wrong here.
I could be completely wrong.
It could be completely off
I'm sure there are lots of female groups that do more more music like this
But anyway, that's just my my perception as someone who's very ignorant to the [E] music
[D]
[N] So the difference between her oh my god, I love this little line here
She has a lot more breath in her voice
So less bellyache more breath, even though both of those two components are still present
[D]
[Bb]
[Gm] [Dm]
[F] [Bb]
This voice is much lighter and I oh my god, they're all really good and they're all very different they all very different vocally
I'm, very sorry if i'm repeating like I don't know the members.
I don't know their names.
I don't know their faces
so it's rather difficult for me to keep track of everybody at the same [Gm] time here, but
[Dm]
[Bb] [Gm]
This [Db] [Dm] [E]
[F] [D] is a different singer than the last time right?
Let me take a quick listen
[C] [F]
[Bb] This singer was much lighter sounding and more higher placed vocally and a bit more
Forward and you might even say masky or nasally.
I don't mean nasal in a derogatory sense
This one is more full and dark and [Gm] mouthy
[Db]
[Dm] [C] So [F] for example, uh
Um, that's a very full mouthy open sound
[Bb] [Gm]
[N] [D] I love this drop.
This is a really nice drop
Okay, so we've heard so far a verse chorus verse chorus I believe and I think now we're going to go into a bridge
And this part of the song is usually different from the rest of the [Fm] song
[Am]
[Gbm]
[F] Tell me if i'm wrong, but I think this is the singer that I heard initially that I said I really like
[D]
[Gb] [F] But [N]
can you hear the difference in the way that they approach the similar notes like she's saying inside
And another singer might go inside
Right, I feel like someone was more mouthy and full.
She's a little bit brighter and lighter sounding
[D] Kill this love.
Yes, not much [Em] truth.
[F] Gotta kill it
[D]
And in this particular section on the word kill they really almost aren't even singing it
They're kind of just like attacking it and almost like shouting it must kill this love
And sort of just emoting on it on pitch
[G]
[F] Okay,
[G] [N]
that was just a an outro not even a
Not even a bridge there interesting.
Okay, so the song structure is a little bit different than I would expect as well
This was a really cool video.
I actually really enjoyed this.
Let me know if you liked my reaction to this
Let me know if you think that there's anything else I should check out drop a like on this video if you like the video
Subscribe if you're new and until next time tristans and tristfam.
Peace
