Oh, [D] so [A] stupidly good!
[B] Hello and welcome back to the channel.
I'm your host and spirit of Spinto, Ken Levine.
I'm a singer and vocal coach here on YouTube and today we are looking at the 15 best cover songs of Sam Ryder.
I'm not sure we'll get to all of them, but before we do that, I'd just like to remind you all to please remember to hit that subscribe button, notification bell, do the thingy with the thumbs up.
That would be really helpful.
So, okay, Sam Ryder apparently tearing it up on TikTok.
This man has a voice.
Let's have a listen to it.
Let's see what we think.
Here we go.
3, 2, 1. [C] Oh, yeah.
[Dm]
[C]
[Gm]
[Dm] [C]
[Dm]
[Gm]
[A#] [C]
[F#] Oh, okay.
Yeah.
I think this is a compilation of a bunch of different cover songs.
Like I said, 15.
I'm not sure we'll get to all of them, but if that's any indication of what is to expect from this vocalist.
Incredible stability and passion in his voice.
Oh my goodness.
If there's ever an indication of when someone knows what they're doing, when they can do the vocal flip, the falsetto flip, so effortlessly as he did just back there.
It was just [D] so
I'm geeking out here.
Oh my goodness.
All right.
[A] I'm a mellow one by the [E] dust.
[F#m] Oh, why can I not conquer [D] love?
And [A] no matter how do you it [E] well?
[F#m] Wanted to fight this war with no [D] weapons.
And [A] I wanted it, I wanted it [E] bad.
[F#m] But there were so many red [D] flags.
Oh, [B] so great.
Oh, a little bit of vocal rasp on those high notes.
Such control and a beauty in the voice.
I just want to point out something here.
Okay, so as he's singing there, one of the things I noticed, and I noticed a lot from my coaching clients, especially the ones that are just starting out, they don't really have a concept of how, how wide you need to open up your mouth in order to get those sounds out.
And I think that you have a tremendous amount of muscle coordination between the power, the breath support that Sam has, and then just making sure that he's removing as much of the potential impediments to get those sounds out as [F#] he can.
And one of the easiest ways to do that is just open your mouth really wide.
And he does, he does over and over again.
And it's just such a masterclass in how to sing this style with passion and stability.
[D] Right there.
[A]
[E] Look at that.
[F#m]
[D] [A]
[E] [F#m]
[D] [A]
[E] [F#m]
Oh, [D] so [A] stupidly good.
[E] [F#m]
[D] [C] [Dm]
[Am] Is this the original key?
[C]
[Dm] [Am]
[F] [Dm]
[Am] That is really good.
[F] He's singing into his [Dm] microphone.
[G] That's what it looks like.
[C] [Dm]
[Am] [F]
There's just something so perfect about how he's modifying his vowels to [G#] get the style of the sound, the style of the song.
Just so locked into the zone of what just what not only what you expect, but what you find [B] incredibly pleasing.
And I mean, just look at this guy.
Where is he?
The
[E] [G#m] hair, the beard.
It's [Bm] like Thor the musical.
The beard makes me want to cry.
I could never grow up like that.
Fantastic.
Okay, let's let's see if we can get a few more here.
[A] Some people [C] want it all, [Bm] want it all.
If it [Am] ain't you baby, if I ain't [G] got you baby.
Okay, [B] so this is kind of wrecking my mind a bit when he's singing and he's just in his living room, obviously, or maybe his studio.
Yeah, maybe living room studio.
It doesn't matter.
There's this incredible like polished reverb on the vocal.
Is that just is that something that TikTok does?
Like, it's so great.
It's so great.
[Bm] [C]
Everything [A] means nothing [Am] if I ain't [G] got you.
[Am] [C] Have a wicked, wicked, wicked, wicked, wicked [F#m] day.
Okay.
All right, Sam.
We will have a wicked day.
Okay, a few more here.
My lover's [Bm] got humor.
[F#m] She's a giggle at a [A] funeral.
Knows everybody's [Bm] disapproval.
[F#m] Should've worshipped her sooner.
If the heavens ever [Bm] did [F#m] speak, she's a [Bm] lashing [A] mouthpiece.
Every [Bm] Sunday's getting more [F#m] bleak.
Fresh [Bm] poison each week.
I was born [D] sick, but I love it.
He meant me [B] to.
Ah, diction.
Diction is just perfect.
How much can you take of me just going, wow, that was perfect.
Another perfect note.
There's nothing to criticize here.
Just [Dm] sit back and admire.
And you can do that on your own time.
So why don't you go do that?
Check [B] out Sam Ryder at his YouTube.
And yeah, maybe, you know, actually one of the things that I'd like to point out, watching this guy do his thing,
and knowing that there are hundreds, thousands of people who are just putting their soul and passion into their music,
into their covers, into whatever it is that they're doing out there.
And it's just free.
It's free for all of us to enjoy.
What are the voices that you guys are listening to right now that you feel don't get enough recognition?
Send me a link.
Leave that down in the comments below.
And let me know.
I am so thrilled to hear fantastic musicians wherever they are, whether they're established or whether they're just starting out.
Nice to hear people do great stuff.
All right, so that's it for me.
If you are one of those singers that is not entirely sure where your voice is,
and you want to get to that level of polish that you admire in so many other singers,
it doesn't matter where you're starting from, but as long as you have a goal in mind,
a good vocal coach can help you achieve those goals.
My studio is totally chock-a-block full right now, but I do have space for people on my Wizzyo page.
You can submit me a video, and I will review it and offer up my thoughts and my suggestions.
You can get a hold of me there.
So, yes, thank you so much.
If you've made it to the end of this video, I appreciate you watching, and we will see you next time.

If you are one of those singers that is not entirely sure where your voice is,
and you want to get to that level of polish that you admire in so many other singers,
it doesn't matter where you're starting from, but as long as you have a goal in mind,
a good vocal coach can help you achieve those goals.
_ _ My studio is totally chock-a-block full right now, but I do have space for people on my Wizzyo page.
You can submit me a video, and I will review it and offer up my thoughts and my suggestions.
You can get a hold of me there.

If you've made it to the end of this video, I appreciate you watching, and we will see you next time.
