guitar player the legend is they were trying to recruit you for dire straits
yeah Mark in 1989 came to actually to New York City we were a friend of mine
Greg DiVerna who lives here we're sitting down recounting the story he
says if it wasn't from a mistake in ten years ago I think he came to see you we
played at the Lonestar okay a little star and Mark came to see us and he came
and said do you have any interest in being in dire straits and I said oh my
gosh yeah I would love to be but I just signed a new contract with MCA records
and I kind of struggled for you know six or seven years trying to get some songs
on the radio one very successful and I just really believed in this new Union
and the record I just made and I didn't know if anything was gonna happen but
you know I turned down a pretty good deal you know just kind of take a shot
and then it turned out to be you know I would have loved to have done it you
know musically I really admire him so so much and but as a career move I finally
made one right well let's go back to the phones this gentleman whose name is
