Hi, my name is Vincent Pontare.
[D#m] And my name is Salem Al-Fakir.
And we are Vargas & La Gola.
[C#] [B]
The whole idea about Vargas & [C#] La Gola [D#m] was to get an [C#] alias that [B] forced us out of the [D#m] [C#] comfort [F#] zone, kind of musically.
[C#] I came from my [B] own solo project, and you [F#] came from your own [D#m] solo project.
And it started [C#] off with you [B] renting this room because I [D#m] was away.
And [C#] then when I [D#m] came back, we talked about [G#] trying to write some stuff [Dm] together.
Yeah, and I didn't want to leave.
Exactly.
Along the way, we've been writing so many songs, and some of the songs, they were too good.
Too good.
No, but they were too close to us.
And the interesting thing with that is the songs had a specific sound and a specific feeling.
And through the songs, we could actually see almost like a pattern.
Sometimes when you write to other artists, you think about the artist and then you think about what can [A#] they do and so on.
[F] But when we write to ourselves, we can just [C] write and let it [D] be open.
[E] People around [A#] us don't know [F] who's singing where.
Our [G] voices are modulated [Dm] to one.
When you get tired, I jump in.
[Bm]
And if I get tired, you never jump in.
I never jump in.
[G] [A] [Bm] In this studio, we have the writing room.
This is a really good room [A] for just writing.
[Bm] And we have the producer's room, and we have the mixing room, and we have everything [F#] that we need.
And we [Em] used to do [A] everything, [F#] like from writing, from playing [Em] [B] instruments to producing, and we [A] make our own coffee.
[E] Actually, [Bm] in this very couch, Katy Perry was writing lyrics.
And we had [G] [A] Pharrell here.
[Bm] Yeah, a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah, a couple of weeks [G] ago.
[A] [Bm] [A]
And [F#m] [Bm]
[G] [E] we share the [Em] whole house with [D] Sebastian Ingrosso [A] and Axwell and [Bm] a lot of other people.
[A] [G] Magnus the Magnus.
We're a [G#] happy family.
[C#m] Varges and La Gola [E] playing live.
First of all, I think it will be a [F#] whole world that [F#m] you enter.
[A] Yeah.
That is [D#m] not [A] from this earth.
No.
We've been working on stage [C#m] for
For many years.
For many, many, many years.
[E] And that's actually a part that we left [B] behind, [A] just to focus on the songwriting.
I feel that there's no [E] limits where we [C#m] can go with the whole live side.
[E] Finally, we can wear makeup.
We can be ourselves.
Yeah, [C] we can be ourselves.
Yeah.
