We met in a town where indie folk was like the main thing.
So when we met, the fact that both of us were making electronic music
basically instantly ignited us to try and make music together
and it was a pretty quick collaboration.
We didn't know what the hell we were doing at the first part,
so we were just, yeah, do it, dude, [A] sounds cool.

[C#] [F#m] [B] 2012, Odessa released their debut album, [F#m] Summer's Gone,
on SoundCloud where it reached one million streams within a year.
These were impressive numbers at a time when dubstep was the dominant electronic genre.
[B] It had a very different sound from the rest of the [F] EDM [C]
[F] world.

Odessa's second studio album, [Bm] In Return, was released two years later
and [D] featured guest performances and organic [F#m] instrumentation,
helping their music [E] appeal to a far broader audience.

[E] [B] Their North American tour in support of the album [D] sold out completely
and they [A] were invited to perform [F#] at over 20 major festivals
including [E] Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and [Bm] Coachella.

[E] When it comes to EDM [Bm] concerts, most people imagine [D] a DJ hitting play on a laptop
and [Em] dancing around on stage for a couple of hours.
When Odessa was [Am] scheduled to play at Coachella in 2015,
[G] they decided to [Em] break that stereotype.
Their set featured a drumline, brass section, multiple guest vocalists,
[C] and an incredible light show.

[G] set was a milestone in their career
and they continued to feature acoustic instrumentation in their live performances.
[C#] [Fm] Odessa's third studio album, A Moment Apart, was released in the fall of [D#] 2017.
The record [Fm] featured more guest performances and [A#m] organic instrumentation than ever before
[C#] and went on to be used in television shows and car [Bm] commercials.

The track, [D] Corners of the Earth, was chosen as the 2018 [F#m] Winter Olympics anthem.

A Moment Apart is all about taking a moment to step away
[C#m] from all the noise and the things [D] that may be weighing down life.
With high critical acclaim, Odessa continued to [F#m] sell out large venues around the world
including the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It's a [C#m] huge space, but [B] we're excited to do it.
