A few [B] people have reached out and said [G#m] I should check out a group called Dirty Loops
And interestingly those recommendations have come from like
Band-Maid reaction videos, Jeff Castellucci and Snarky Puppy
Quite a varied level of genre so I have no clue what Dirty Loops are like based on where those recommendations came from
This is Dirty Loops and Cory Wong
Also thanks to my brother for chatting out this one [G] as well
Follow the Light
I don't know a thing about this other than it's 4 minutes 52 seconds
And it's music!
And I like music
So we'll see, I'm really excited
It's gonna be a brand new thing for my head
And
go!
Apparently they're Swedish
Someone said that they were Swedish
Sounds [C]
[G] like the intro to Baywatch
[C]
[D] [Em] Go
Oh!
We've got some music in That's tight!
Oh my god
Michael Jackson has possessed his body
God there's a synthy bass sound in there
[A] [C]
[F#] [G] [C] That bass sounds [A] great
[Em] [A] [C]
[Em] [G] [C] Oh the funk!
[A] [G]
[D] [Em] Oh [G] the bass
[C] [G]
[C] This
[G]
is gorgeous
That [C] [G] bass though Tight trumpet
[Am] Oh!
Nice!
[Em]
Oh!
The [G]
tightness of that brass stab
[Em] [E]
[A] [C] [Cm] [G] [Em] Mmm!
[Bm] Those keys
[G] [C]
[G] The biggest tom tom I've ever seen in my [C] life is on that drum kit
[A]
[Em] Like a kick drum
[Am] [G] Okay, [D] we had a [G] Michael Jackson hee hee
[C] [F#]
That [G]
[D] [G]
bass [C] tripling!
[G] It's so amazing
[C]
[Am] [G] Drummers [D] tight
[Em] [G]
Vocalists obviously crushing [C] it
Oh!
[D] [Em] Hey!
[G]
It's lighting my [C] soul up
[Em]
Mmm!
Palm muted gentle picking on the guitar Get it?
[F#]
[Em] [A] Oh!
Lamb!
[Em]
[G] Sorry?
[D]
[E] That's the bass?
[A] [Bm]
[G] Oh my god
Oh!
Come [D] [Em] on!
[G] This is amazing
Oh!
So [C]
funky
[G]
[D] I [G] feel [Em] alive
[G] [C] [G]
[D] [Em] [C] [G]
Key [B] [C#]
[B] change!
[C#m]
[F#] [E] Okay!
[G#m] The [G#]
[G] fucking range!
The high vocal range at the end Unreal
I'm assuming that's kind of it right?
Yeah we've got a long credit play and then we're done
That lit me up from the inside out musically
That was just absolutely incredible
Two great things about that which I loved in particular
The musicianship was on a very very high level in terms of [A] performance and technical ability
Great!
But also the song itself
Like the chords, the notes, the melody choices was just joyful and funky as fuck
[G#m] Like it had everything
Because here's the problem
If you have a band like Snarky Puckby which I've reacted to recently
With incredible musicianship and is mind-blowing
But it is
Don't hate me but maybe too much
Maybe it's too much about look how good I am at playing my instrument
And less about let's also just make a great song you're gonna love
Do you know what I mean?
Like it's less of an instrumental piece and more of like this is a song that is also in itself in its own right a bit of a banger Right?
That's what this had in my opinion
Follow the Light had unbelievable musicianship from everyone across the board
The brass section, the singer, keyboard play very nice and tight
The bass I'll get to
The bass
Guitarist, drums, everyone's exceptional
Absolutely masterful job
And the song was funky
And it took me on a bit of a journey
And it sort of swelled up and there was a key change towards the end which was just like Ah!
Excuse me Incredible
But the fucking bass
If someone can play bass really really well
As that gentleman clearly can
It's just another level
There's something so special about
It's kind of like sorcery to me
I don't know because I don't know what the technique is to do like slap bass bits and pieces
But [N] that's sort of like triplet On the
I don't know how he does it
But it sounds incredible
It's sort of like a mashup of the drum and bass
You know the rhythm section right?
You've got the percussive element of the bass along with the notes he's hitting
Just a match made in heaven
Drummer was really funky and tight and amazing
Fills were very enjoyable
The biggest tom tom in the world
It did just look like he had a kick drum pedal on a stand
Kick drum pedal?
Kick drum on a stand
Which was quite a choice
Why not?
Be different
That was fantastic
I loved the shit out of that
I can't wait to hear that again
And hear more from
I'm hoping this is something that Dirty Loops do a lot
I don't know
Recommend me another song by Dirty Loops please
That you think I would enjoy based on that
Or Corey Wong
I don't know what their relationship is
Was he the bassist or the singer?
Don't know who that was
Let me know, please educate me
But that was amazing
Thank you very much for the recommendation
So who did that?
ZappaFan Aurora
Not the actual Aurora I imagine
Someone whose username is Aurora Peter Ness
And someone whose name is in Russian I can't pronounce
And Notango Illusiones
And my bro Thanks folks
If you want to see more from me in future Feel free
Otherwise have a wonderful day
