tutorial The Wings-Gustavo Santaolalla-part 2 pluckin' and strumming with tabs chords
Start Jamming...
This is part 2 on the tutorial of the Wings by Gustavo Santolana.
At this point we've already covered the chords and we've covered the intro.
So we're heading [B] into the next part which you could call verse 1, I guess.
The thing here is the chords are the same.
That's a good thing.
The chord progression is the same.
It repeats
[N]
though, but it's still the same.
On the other hand, the difference here is that [Cm] there's some strumming and [Bm] there's some plugging.
And [N] in the intro you plug 2 strings at [G] the same time.
[Bm] [B] But in this part you will plug 3 or 4 strings at the same time.
And you strum [G] here and there.
So it's not really easy but it can be done of course.
Anyway, so we start off with the G which you strum [G] one time.
Like that.
The melody starts off on the second string.
So try to avoid touching the [B] first string.
On the other hand, if you do touch it by accident, [E] then please put your pinky of your left hand there.
So when you do touch it, it will sound ok.
But if you leave it open, it really sounds off.
[Cm] So [B] you start off.
[G] Then you head into the A minor 7 and the Gb.
Those chords you plug.
And you plug them with your [D] 5th, 3rd and 2nd string.
So for the A minor 7 [B] you only need your index on your left [Am] hand.
And for the [Db] Gb you use [G] both fingers.
See?
Like that.
[A]
[G] Now we're heading into the D minor.
[Dm]
So, down up down up.
Then we go to C.
You do the [E] same but only put your [C] thumb back to the 5th string of course.
Down up down up.
[Dm] See?
Down up [C] down up.
Down up down up.
And then we get this little thingy.
I hope you remember from the intro.
[B]
This [G] one.
[Db]
That [B] was an ugly pull-off.
[N] Whatever.
But, in this case, you need to play two strings at the same time.
Not just the second, but also the third.
Yes?
The second time you hit it, it's three times.
The second time you hit the 6th string as well.
Because you're going back to the G chord.
Okay?
[G] So it'll be like this.
Yeah?
Then you have time for another down up.
Then you do the one stroke down again.
Because you're [Eb] heading into the [Bm] second time that you do the chord progression.
Because it repeats, like I said.
[Ab] So again, I'll start at D minor.
[Dm] Down up [C] down up.
Down up [G] down up.
Down up down.
A minor 7.
[Dm] G, B.
D minor.
[C] C.
[G]
This is the only difference.
Yes?
Because the first time it was like this.
The second time it's like
Like that.
You have another down up.
[A] [G] [Dm]
[C]
[G] [A]
[G] [Db] Then you have a D minor again.
But the melody is more on the third string instead of the first.
So it's [D] more like this.
[C] The same goes for [D] C chord.
[G]
[Ab] Okay.
I hope you got that.
[D]
[Em] I'm gonna play it again.
Maybe then you can see.
[G] [A] [G] [Dm]
[C]
[G] [A]
[Dm] [C]
[G]
[Dm] [C]
[G]
[Dm]
[C] [G]
[D]
[C] [G]
Yeah.
There.
Like I said, the melody ends up on the third string.
So you wanna play this one a bit louder in the last few chords.
Okay.
[Eb] This was the second part.
That wasn't an easy one to explain.
Anyway.
I hope you understand.
[C] In the next video
Actually, it's kinda the same.
Only then it's only strumming.
[N] Down strokes.
Well, I'll show you in the next one.
Thanks for now.
