Hello, Andy Bryant here.
I have a video of me on YouTube
Playing Mississippi kid and I've had some pretty good interest sounds like other guitarists wanting to learn [F#] that
so I'm gonna give a breakdown of
Basically how I played it.
[F] You don't play anything exactly the same every [E] time but the basic idea
[D] Starts with this riff
[Em] [F#]
so [G] that's sliding the
B string up to the fifth [E] fret and
Playing the E string open with it
[F#]
and then it goes right into this riff which repeats quite a bit in the song
It's [G] on the E string third fret [F#] second fret
[E] Open and then on the B string [D] third fret [C#m] second fret [B] open
[Em] And then on the G string [Am] second fret [G] open
[F#]
[B] [G]
[F] sort of [E] recap And
[B] [G] [A] Then it's going to [D#] a seventh and when we go to there we just hit the [E] low E string or the low E and the low a
low strings
hit the chord
[D] cover the
Third fret on the B string hit the chord [E] again
And then uncover that hit the e7 chord again
e7 by the way is
eat regular E chord and you take your
ring finger off leaving the
D-string open
Okay, [B] and then after that you're going right back to [E] that same riff.
We did earlier
[A] [B]
Leaving [D#] that G string part out of that.
We're just going E [G] string three two [Cm] zero B [C#] string three two [Em] zero
back to our
seventh chord [E] low notes all corn
third fret on the B
Back off of that
[A] [E]
When I [G] do that that um the riff here.
I like to have like a little sweep down
[F#]
Have a [F] dead strings until I hit that one just to keep up like a strum sound going on
[E]
[B] [E] Then it goes to a a chord [D#] when I do the A's in this song
I like to keep it like a blues riff, so I'm playing my a chord with one finger, and I'm going back and forth hitting the
fourth fret on the [A] D string
[D#] really only hitting
Low strings, I'm hitting like my low a and then the D string
But I got it all covered [A] just in case I hit other strings on accident.
It'll be melodic.
[A]
[Gm] I'm going back to the
[E] 7th
[B]
[E] Then it goes to [F#] a B chord and on that one I
Do like an open B 7th?
which I'm sure you can look that up, but it's
[B]
first fret on the D string second fret on the a string
second fret on the
G string and second fret on the
E string
Back down to a
[A]
And in fact to our e7 [F] where we're always doing [E] that
[B] [E]
That's pretty much it for the bulk of the song.
I got my pistols in my pockets [A] boys
And I'm Alabama
[E] fan [B]
[E] I
[A] Got my pistols in my pockets boys.
I'm Alabama
[E] [Em] [E]
[B] Seven
[A]
[E] [B] [E]
[A] So [F#] I keep that kind of thing going I had my harmonica.
I didn't know like I simplified
The when I was on the e chord and I was playing a harmonica.
I wasn't doing [E] that riff.
I was
[D#] It's kind of strumming my e7 playing around with it, and then I had a little
Guitar instrumental part that I was pretty much winging well what I did was
if you do a e
Bar chord up here if you make that a e7 I was working around that idea, but I kept some strings open
so I was covering
seventh fret on the a string
ninth fret on the D string and
Ninth fret on the B string and then playing some open [E] strings around it, and I took these two guys
my two ninth fret guys and slid them up and they're like the
[F#m] [A] 11th and [F#] 10th fret
[A] [F] One of those kind of deals, but I strummed it out like [Em] I was some [A] open strings around those
[E]
[A]
[Em] Then I went back to [E] this thing [B]
and then when it would have been the a chord
[A] I just did some [F#] doodling around like pentatonic scale wise really between my
fifth fret and seventh [E] fret
[Bm]
[A] [G]
And [E] now when I went to my B.
[D#] I played that same B like we've [B] been doing
Just to keep it like full of some [C] extra flavor.
[Fm] I split it up a [C] half step
[B]
[G] I don't know if I did that gimmick there, [E] but
[F#] So basically to run through that again
[E]
[F#m] [B]
[E]
[B] [C]
[E] [B] [E]
[G#] All right, well hope that helps you out when I did the other video my friend Mike Duran was filming me a good camera
I'm [G] doing this out here with the chickens with my cell [F#] phone, so hope it
