Hi everybody, this is how you play Free As A Bird.
We're going to start with a chord sequence of A, F-sharp minor, D minor and E.
I'm going to play D minor in the second position.
So it's like this.
A, [F#m] F-sharp [Dm] minor, D [E] minor and E.
[A] Again, A, [F#m]
F-sharp [Dm] minor, D minor [E] and E.
And let's [A] start.
[E] [Dm] [E] [A]
[F#m] [Dm] [E]
[A] [F#m] [D] [G]
[C] A [Am] minor.
Esus4 to [E] E.
Now the Esus4 is the D shape.
Slide it up the fourth fret.
Put your little finger on.
Give the Esus4 to E.
[A]
[F#m] [Dm] [E] A
[A] [F#m] [A] [E]
[F#m] [Dm] [G]
[C] minor.
[Am] [E]
Esus4 to E.
Now it gets interesting with an [C] Fmaj7 chord.
Whatever happened [F#] to the life that we once knew?
Now the second chord after the Fmaj7 is a difficult one to finger.
It's [C] basically an A minor shape with the F-sharp bass.
This is the easiest way I've found to do it.
You've got your Fmaj7 chord first.
You keep this finger on.
That's the second fret, first finger.
Now you make your A minor shape with your little finger on the one next to it.
Those two.
So there's the A minor shape.
Use this one to stretch across for the F-sharp bass.
[F#] So [F]
it's
Whatever happened [F#] to the life that we once [G] knew?
Can we really live [A] without each other?
Now I've got to use the A bass there with
[E] Sorry, the G bass.
So it's A with [A] the G bass.
A and G bass.
[C] F-sharpmaj7.
[Am] [C] Second chord with the A minor F [F#]-sharp bass shape.
I used to mean so much.
[G] G.
It always makes [E] me
[B] Back to E.
[A] And you start off again.
[C#] A.
[F#m] F-sharpmaj7.
[Dm] D minor.
[E] And A.
OK, thanks [C] very much for listening.
