[F] [G] [Am]
[G] It's the [C] most [D] important show [Am] we've ever done really.
[A] [G]
We after [Em] the death of [Am] our brother and our band mate and our soul spirit [Em] Jay only three
weeks ago, [Am] this gig was already booked.
And we talked [C] about it and we thought it was the [B] perfect [Am] opportunity to pay homage
and tribute [Bm] to his life and to [C] have [E] our friends and our [F] families and our [Em] fans [C] in Sydney come
along and offer them an opportunity to [E] say goodbye.
[F] We're [Em] really in no space [C] in our heads or emotionally to be doing it.
[E] But I think the fact that [F] [Em] it's for [C] Jay, that's what we're focusing on because it is what
he [E] would have wanted.
I'm really glad I'm here.
It's [C] been a big deal.
You know, you got the call.
So [B] awesome.
[E] [C] It's been pretty full on.
Personally [E] and emotionally too, you know, [F] Jay was [D]
figuring [C] out what the hell he was doing.
[G] It would be interesting if he was learning [Am] people to me.
But [Dm] more importantly, I think just [G]
his legacy and to get stuck into it [A] to that depth.
[G] It's been at the same time, [C]
[Am] I knew his [G] asset was his groove.
[C] I knew that.
[Am] But it did surprise me, I've got to say, his [G] level of [A] dedication in his playing.
I'm a jazz player and I can see what Jay was doing in terms of connecting lines up together
and things and stuff.
He was a highly sophisticated player.
He was shit.
I'm looking [Am] forward to it now.
I'm here and it's all happening.
I just want to get [G] up there and make [A] some noise.
Get the boogie on.
[Am] [Db]
Is this your first show?
[Eb]
Of course.
[Bm] I've had it, [Eb] um, [Db] with Jay and his older brother.
I'm [A] probably the main inspiration that got them started in the pathway of [Eb] music.
So it's very fitting that he's [E] here and that I really appreciate it.
We all do.

[F] [Am]

[F] Spalling [C] down on the dark,

[F] May [D] this love [C] be a reason
For [G]
