[E]
You come to weekend.
[D] I'm [G] [A] up and ready to [E] go.
Let's go off the deep end.
[D] Join the party [A] from coast to [B] coast.
Come out and see everyone.
[A] The [E] time is here.
[B] Don't walk away.
You better [D] run.
[A] [G] Yeah.
[A] [B] Maybe [E] we'll be back [D] in.
To the edge.
[A] Out of the [D] shade.
Feel so right.
[E] Hey, I'm Mark Scott.
[D] PJ Farley.
Pete Lawrence.
And [A] I'm Steve Brown and we are [G] Trickster and we're here to talk about [E] our brand new CD.
Human Era.
Hiya!
Coming out June 9th at Frontiers Records.
Yeah!
It all started with a concept by the great, bass playing, [C#] vocalist, [D] PJ Farley of Trickster.
[A] who came up with this concept, Human [E] Era.
[D] You forgot Magician.
Yeah, it's my concept.
[A] Ha ha ha ha!
[B] It was a title slash concept that I kind [A] of thought of
just because [E] of, you know, the four of [B] us
still kicking around together [E] and coming up in an [B] era
back when bonds were [G] formed.
Friends were friends!
[Am] Back when we started this [A] band, back in [E] 1982,
[D] there were no cell [A] phones, there were no computers,
we [Dm] had to call each other, we had to [E] ride bikes
to go [D] to rehearsal with [A] each other.
Sending smoke signals.
And, you know, [G] 30 years [D] later, we're [E] still here
and that's the, you know, the focus of this record.
I joined the band in [D] 1984.
That's like 31 years?
[G#m] That's [C#m]
ridiculous.
To think that I'm even that old [B] sucks!
Ha ha ha ha!
To be a trickster [G#m] for this long, for 30 years almost,
it's, [C#m] uh, it doesn't feel like [D] being in a band
or being in something, it just [A] feels like, [D] uh,
something [E] I do with my family.
When you deal with trickster, you know, it's not a facade.
You know, we're a bunch of crazy sons of bitches.
And I'm proud to say that, not for real things.
Remember that night at your parents' house?
Ha ha ha ha!
Where you were on the table with the trumpet
and the table fell down!
It's true.
And then caught fire.
And you lit the kitchen on fire!
[D] Came with the trumpet and the table fell [C#] down
but he landed on his hands and [Em] knees
and the trumpet didn't hit the [B] ground!
Ha ha ha ha!
But we almost [G] burned the kitchen down!
And your father counted [Dm] the fork!
[N] Ha ha ha! Spoons!
The spoons! The spoons!
Ha ha ha ha!
Yes, he counted the spoons!
One missing and you were forked!
Ha ha ha ha!
[E] Oh!
He was!
[D] That's what I'm talking about!
[F#] That's true!
[C#]
The fact that we get to do this,
I hope we're around for [A#m] another 30 years
because it's pretty kick-ass.
And my best friends couldn't [G#m] be better.
[F#] These guys are my family, my [C#] brothers.
We still love each other.
We still have fun with each [A#m] other.
And we still make great music together.
[G#]
[F#] [C#]
Yesterday, my favorite song was
Rock It To The Edge Of The Night.
[B] Now that we did the video,
it was to how many times today?
It's no longer [A] my favorite song!
It is the essence of Trickster.
[F#] It's the [B] oldest song.
We did it 25 years ago or something.
And it took a [E] fine line.
It took [A] 25 years to put back.
[G] But we did it and now it's yours.
[A] [E]
[D] [A] We [C#] have some songs like
Midnight In Your [D#m] Eyes that
[B] I think is probably one of the heaviest things we've ever [A#] done.
[D#] [C#] [B]
[C#] For [D#m]
[G#] You, which is a total
[A#] Tarmageddon, [G#] Van Halen type thing.

[B] [F#] I

[B] think the song that snuck up on me the most
is [F#] Human Era.
[B]
Honestly.
It's a good one.
I [F#] agree with you.
It kind of sums [B] up the whole thing.
It just [G#] [F#] feels good, man.
[G#m] [E] [B]
[F#] We
[G#m] [E] just [B] love having a great time together.
We were [C#] nuts [B] when we went out
on the road for the first time.
We were like kids in a [E] candy store.
[B] And to do it together was amazing.
The fact that we [F#] get the [G#m] opportunity
20, 25 years later to [C#] do it [B] again
on the level that we're doing it,
we're very, very fortunate.
After [E] 25 years of being a national act on the scene,
30 years of playing together,
I can honestly say I think we made our best [D] record to date.
Everyone is just [C#] really at the top of their game.
[E] It's kind of cool.
I think [A] Trickster is getting [Em] better
with [D] every new record that we've [Gm] made.
[Dm] Yeah, I mean, I think ironically,
our [E] past has given [D] us the opportunity
to [D#] make [A] the best music that [D] we've ever been [D#] able to [E] make.
I think [D] I speak for everybody.
[A] We're only really proud of our latest [E] effort.
The record [D] covers a lot of [A] different areas for us.
[D] I [E] think we have something [D] for everybody.
[A] This record, Human Era, I [G] think really [D] sums [E] up
everything that Trickster is [D#] and [E] what we were.
Back 30 years [C#m] ago, that we still are.
There's a real heart in it.

It's a good one.
I [F#] agree with you.
It kind of sums [B] up the whole thing.
It just [G#] _ [F#] feels good, man. _
_ [G#m] _ _ [E] _ _ [B] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [F#] We _ _
[G#m] _ _ _ _ [E] _ just [B] love having a great time together.
After [E] _ 25 years of being a national act on the scene,
30 years of playing together,
I can honestly say I think we made our best [D] record to date.
Everyone is just [C#] really at the top of their game.
[E] It's kind of cool.
I think [A] Trickster is getting [Em] better
with [D] every new record that we've [Gm] made.
[Dm] Yeah, I mean, I think ironically,
our [E] past _ has given [D] us the opportunity
to [D#] make [A] the best music that [D] we've _ ever been [D#] able to [E] make.
I think [D] I speak for everybody.
[A] We're only really proud of our latest [E] effort.
The record [D] covers a lot of [A] different areas for us.
[D] _ _ I [E] think we have something [D] for everybody.
[A] This record, Human Era, I [G] think really [D] sums [E] up
everything that Trickster is [D#] _ and [E] what we were.
Back 30 years [C#m] ago, that we still are.
There's a real heart in it. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [D] _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Cut?
[D] _ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Okay, that's good.
