If [D]
[F#m]
somebody would have told [E] me that we would be [A] on a tour bus six years ago, I would have
been like, are you fucking kidding me?
There's no way we're ever going to be on a tour bus, let [F#] alone be playing shows big enough
to warrant having a vehicle that would have to get us there at one or two in the afternoon
to get ready for these [E] shows.
That's crazy.
I [C#m] mean, six years ago we were in a van that you couldn't drive faster than 60 miles an
hour or the belts would break.
[F#] Yeah, I mean, one of the things I really miss about the van, I miss the travel aspect of
being on tour.
Like, it's [C#] so easy to [D] wake up in front of a club and just not see [Em] any of the rest of the town.
I wasn't sure how people were going to react to [D] a huge, behemoth vehicle [Em] parked in front
of rock clubs where there [F#m] once was a van, but [D] it seemed to have went over okay and I
think it's made the shows a lot better.
I mean, there's [Em] something to be said about being able to [D] get [B] eight hours of [D] sleep at
night and not have to [Em] have it be two in the morning and be like [F#m] [A] driving around rural St.
Louis trying to find a hotel [E] because [A] every hotel is booked because the county fair [F] is
in town, which [F#m] has happened.
Because when you're in a bus, the driver drives at night and you wake up and you're in a different place.
So, the bus is kind of nice, but the bus is also kind of a cocoon.
[Bm] It's really [C#m] easy to just go from the bus to the stage.
[C#] It's comfy though.
[F#] You've got to learn how to sleep in it though.
Usually like this.
[F#m] I do miss the camaraderie that happens when [E] it's [A] four or five people just in a van getting
up in the morning, having [F#] breakfast together, getting in the van and driving to the next
show, doing the show and then [B] going back to a hotel and [C#] staying.
Seeing the road kind of pass by [E] is something that [A] I miss to a certain extent.
[C#m] However, I've seen all the stretches of road so many times [A] over the five years of van tours
that I don't think I need [D] to stop [G#] at the grocery store in Fort Stockton, Texas that [A] we've stopped
at eight times [D] because I know that there's nothing good to eat there [F#] because I've been
there eight times.
