And now for real, Tommy Shaw.
Hi, this is Tommy Shaw, Sticks, Shawblades, Dam Yankees, and myself.
[E] I'm here at NAMM [C] in the Vox [F] booth, and, [Am] uh, hello!
I used to like to walk the [G] straight and narrow line
[Am] I used to think that everything [G] was fine
[Am] Sometimes I'd sit and gaze for days [G] through a sleepless street
[Em]
All [A] alone, [C] entrapped in [G] time
[D]
[Em] All [A] alone, entrapped [C] in time
[D] [Am] I wonder what [C] tomorrow [G] has in mind for me
[Am] Or am I even in its [G] mind?
New [A] guitars, [C] there's a lot of them,
[Gb] but not many of them [Eb] make an impact [Em] when you first pick them up and play them.
The [C] Varage was such a unique design, [Bm] even though it looks like a classic [Em] design.
There's so much more to it the more you look into it.
But it was the plugging it into an amp and playing it live [Dm] on stage [Ab] was what [Em] hooked me.
Won't you tell [C] me,
[D] I've just got [E] to know
Oh, Christo, [A] [Bm]
[B] there's so many things I need to [Bm] know
[E] [A] Oh, [B] [Bm] there's so many things I gotta [B] [E] know
[Bm] Won't you tell me please before I go
[C] [B] [G]
[D]
[A] Thank you!
[Gm] They brought this guitar [G] to me last year, Keith [F] did.
I haven't seen a Vox guitar in a [Gm] long time.
[G] For one thing, it looks great, [C] but it plays great.
It's got this cool pickup [G] system in it.
[F] I don't know if you can see, but there's three little pickups in each pickup.
[Am] [Em]
It's my kind of [D] tone [G] control here.
It's very bonehead.
You reach down and grab stuff.
Because when [F] you're playing live, you can't be [G] going
[C] So it's just switches, heavy-duty toggle switches.
[G] [F] The switches go from
This is like a [C] humbucker down here on this one.
The middle is a P90.
And the top one is a single coil.
All three of them sound really good.
This is just your [Am] regular pickup selector [G] so you can do your combinations.
And that's [A] it.
One volume control, one tone control.
[E] The more [Am] you play it, the better it feels.
[D] It's very light.
It kind of reminds [A] me of my 61 [D] Casino.
[Am] 61 Epiphone Casino.
62, [Dm] he says.
[G] Little sister [C] hits the [F] stage
She can't help it, she's coming [G] of age
Little junior, [C] he's all head and [F] raised
But didn't you [G] notice he was coming up
Little sister [C] hits the [F] stage
She can't help it, she's coming [G] of age
Little junior, [C] he's all head and [G] raised
But didn't you notice he was coming of [C] age
Thank [F]

For my life, I'm the lord and I'm the lord
Hangman is coming down from the gallows
And I don't have a real love
[Gm] But jig is up, the [C] news is out
They finally [Gm] found him
The renegade who had it made
[C] The truth for a [Gm] lie, [D] now the motive goes [C] straight
This will be the end of [F] Dave, [Gm] [C] the wanted [F] man

and I'm trying to finish it up
before I go on a tour this summer with Sticks.
Sticks is going to be on a big tour this summer.
We haven't announced it yet, but it's going to be
you're going to like it.
And there's a Shawblades album that's in the works too.
It's a follow-up to the Influence album.
And I've realized that [G] I'm unable to take a break, ever.
The one thing I can tell you is I like it and I want to play it
and that's about the best thing anybody can say for [A] an instrument.
