Well, millions of people tuned in last night
as Carrie Underwood led the cast of a spectacular live version
of The [F] Sound of Music right [A] here on NBC.
[Bb] That was an event that inspired us
to search for today's Sound of Music family.
And here they are, ready to perform, the Willis clan.
They're from Ashland City, Tennessee.
But first, let's tell you a little bit more about them.
We're the Willis clan.
_ Meet Brenda, Toby, Jeremiah, Jessica, Jennifer, Jackson,
Jedi, Jasmine, Juliet, [D] Jamie, Joey, Jagger, [F] Jeanette,
and Jada.

[A] _ This singing, [G] stomping, fiddling family
from Ashland City, Tennessee [E] is a lot like the real Von Trapps.
We get called the Von [Dm] Trapps all the time.
[G] From [G] that signature roll call.
[Eb] Attention, all kids to the living room.
When you start getting a whole handful [A] of kids,
we've got to come up with systems and so on.
We [B] were so close and yet so far.
To their love of song and dance.
As we [Gbm] started having our family, there
was always [Abm] an instrument around.
[B] And as soon as the little ones were old enough
to beat on a drum or shake a shaker,
[E] we had them performing with us.
And that's kind of how [D] it all started.
_ _ Since it [Em] started off with Irish music and dance,
people called us the O'Faps.
[A] Today, they tour the nation, lighting up audiences
with a mix of [Em] folk songs, country,
and when asked, even a [Bm] little sound of [Gb] music. _ _ _
[D] _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ Sound of music has really influenced our family.
[Cm] Obviously, the large family is similar,
but also music and dance.
But really just [C] love of life in general.
We have a lot of fun no matter what.

First of all, how long did you all practice that?
[Em] Well, we got the word yesterday.
[E] So just a few hours.

You guys came in.
You didn't have a lot of time to practice,
because apparently you ran into a little [D] weather
at the airport.
Tell me about that.
[Db] We did.
Our flight ended up being canceled yesterday.
[D] So we got stuck in Nashville.
We got in about 5 or 6 last night.
It was a heavy day of travel.
OK, but Dad over there told me it's
[B] easy to fly standby when you got 14 people, [Abm] right?
No problem?
Yeah, [E] I just threatened a few people.
People were real nice to us.
We appreciate it.
American Airlines in Nashville was so good to us.
They were fabulous.
Oh, believe me, they love you right about now, too.
They gave some passengers and actually gave up their seats
so you guys could come here?
Yes.
And we're thankful.
[N] Did you repay them by singing in the lounge
or anything like that?
No, we paid them by being quiet in the lounge.
_ _ So what has this whole experience been like?
And a lot of people are going to say, come on,
you guys [D] must be professional.
And the truth [E] is you do have a lot of experience singing
and playing, don't you?
Well, my husband said the other day
that it [Abm] takes 10 years of hard work for an overnight success.
And you just work [B] hard, and you get ready.
And whenever that door opens, you want to be ready for it.
And so when this opportunity arose,
we were [C] thrilled to jump in and didn't
know what was going to be happening.
But we've had a great time so far.
You guys did such a [D] good job.
Do you like to sing or like to dance?
[Eb] What's your favorite thing to do?
_ I like to dance.
