[F#m] Ticket to ride.
[D] Home cart.
[A] [F#m] [D] We're gonna take [N] a look at a pretty, not necessarily easy way
to play this, but like the real way they played it.
This is a very simple song and a lot of
fun to learn.
[F#m] All we gotta do is play a few bar chords, some [G] usual, unusual, some kind
of unusual chords.
[F#m]
[E] We'll look at a few different ways of [A] playing a couple of them.
We're gonna
need some [D] D7s.
We're gonna play in different places.
[A] We're gonna need a G major [G] 7.
We're
gonna need to be played in a slightly unusual way or a simpler way.
[E] And we'll take a quick
[A] little lead.
[E] [A]
[N] Everything you need to be able to play Ticket to Ride.
Now this of course
came out with the movie Help 1965.
They used it in there.
It had a bunch of other great
tunes.
Of course you gotta hide your love away.
Help.
You're gonna lose that girl out
on the rocks.
So if you haven't seen the movie Help, you gotta check it out.
And you really
should have the album because there's just this is one of their best
collection of tunes from the kind of their transitional period just about
into making a little bit more serious songs and more complex songs and things
but one of the things that made a lot of their early songs up through help and
even even following up into rubber soul and revolver the next kind of phase
interesting was they many of them had just a very simple but distinctive
little lick or riff that identifies the song and ticket to ride is is a perfect
example so [A] simple
[F#] building a great tune around something that simple is
something that not too many songwriters can do these guys were great at [A] all
[N] you
got to hear is one little thing now the rest of the song is really just strumming
it's a [A] campfire song you can just strum this whole song using an a chord [F#] you do
not feel play some bars again [G] we're gonna see B minors and F sharp minors
I've got a couple of attachments that that will be helpful one is just a sheet
that has the chords and words with it and the other one is that is a guitar
profile or a tab file that has [A] just this little thing written out [E]
[Em] and the lead
[Em] and [F#] then I'll go [N] with the charts of most of the courts most ones that you need so
let's get into it ticket to ride so what you got to do here is pick out this
we'll start with the introduction just a one measures worth of notes so if you're
looking at the tab you can see you really want to be holding down an a
chord for this one string at a time get kind of probably best to do this in the
anchored position where you've got your little finger resting on the on the on
the top of the guitar and we've got a quarter note and then some eighth notes
