Hi, I'm Alex from NME and today we're with the stars of The Witcher,
Anya Tlodra and Freya Allen.
Do you remember the first time you saw Henry Cavill in the full Geralt outfit?
I was having my screen test and he came over and he shook my hand
and said, if you ever need anything I'm here.
And his eyes were really creepy.
It was a bizarre way to
It was a bizarre
Yeah, yeah, yeah, with the contacts.
He's got really weird eyes.
He was in the outfit, yeah.
Yeah, and it was kind of a bizarre way to meet someone dressed like that.
So when you first saw him, you would have seen him on the cast list
as Henry Cavill, Geralt or Rivian and this kind of guy walks in.
Yeah, no, I remember walking in and he was doing his and I was trying to avoid him
because I was kind of, you know, obviously like anxious to meet the lead guy.
But he was so nice right from the get go.
What about you, Anya?
The first time was I wasn't actually working with him.
I just saw him walking to his trailer.
And I was quite, I think I was quite afraid.
I was like, he looked so bad.
You also ran away.
He got so, he looked so good.
So, yes, saw the back of him walking to his trailer.
Some people will see the word fantasy and get switched off.
How would you convince those people to watch this show?
I think the thing is, it's not just about the fact, it's not just a fantasy show.
You know, there's many parallels you can draw to our world right now.
And also there's so many kind of characters that you would be able to relate to.
And they're going through situations that, despite the fact we may not have magic involved
or elves involved or monsters or whatever else,
they're still very human kind of situations that we can definitely, I think, relate to.
There's a whole lot of action in this series.
And both of you end up in those scenes.
That looks like a lot of fun.
Oh my God, yeah.
Loved it.
We want more action, don't we?
I want way more.
Did you have to do much training for it?
How long?
How many weeks?
We didn't actually get much.
We got weeks of training.
I don't know how many, I can't remember now.
Yeah, we didn't get
Because, you know, the time constraints and we were working at such a pace,
[G#] like we didn't get that much, as much as we would have wanted.
But it still looked amazing, especially the scenes Henry fights in.
What you see on screen is [G] what you've got in [F#] life.
It was amazing.
The Witcher season two has already been confirmed.
Is there anything you didn't get to do in season one that you're hoping to be included in season two?
Fight.
More fights?
Yeah, absolutely.
I didn't do any fights in this.
Yeah.
Well, you're in sort of some scenes that kind of have action going on.
Yeah, but I'm usually running from the action, running away.
Less running for season two.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Less running, more actually confronting.
