[Gb] Thanks very much.

But first, it's Day on [Gbm] NBC.

[A] [E] [Gbm] [C]
Potato, hot potato.
Hot potato, hot potato.
[Gb] N-Sync, 98 Degrees and the Backstreet Boys may be [F] driving the teens wild, [E] but now four [N] guys from Australia are all the rage with the younger [Ab] crowd.
Greg, Anthony, [Bbm] Murray and Jeff are The Wiggles.
Welcome everybody.
Nice to see you.
Anthony, thank you guys for coming.
Now, it's so interesting.
You [Bb] all, three of you were studying [Dbm] childhood education, [Fm] early childhood education at Sydney.
[Bbm] And that's how the three of you met.
And then later you recruited [F] Jeff to [B] join the crowd, right?
That's right.
Yeah, Jeff was playing in a rock band with Anthony [C]
called The Cockroaches.
[F] They had six top 40 hits in Australia and that's where we got Jeff from.
And since then we've been doing albums and videos and now [E] we're in America.
We're having a [B] great time.
[Bbm] It's fantastic.
Well, how did the three of you who were studying together start singing?
Did you just
Well, we all had a musical background and we decided [Db] to [N] put some of what we knew about early childhood teaching and what we knew about music together.
And we came up [C] with an album of songs for [N] children and came up with The Wiggles.
You started singing first at daycare [B] centers, though, birthday [Bb] parties, things like that.
And then you just sort of caught on like wildfire.
People have called you across between the monkeys and the Teletubbies.
And also across between Monty Python and Pee Wee Hermit.
How do you feel about that?
Do [N] you feel flattered or do you think, oh my gosh?
I think so.
I mean, [Gb] it's very flattering.
You love to be called [E] a Teletubbie.
Well, yeah, the monkeys, we love the monkeys.
Yeah, the Teletubbies.
Well, the Teletubbies, the colors, I guess, [G] are quite similar.
[N] You know, why do you think you guys have made such a hit?
I mean, one out of two kids in Australia, I understand, owns a video of The Wiggles.
And you're making a big headway here in the States because I guess you've been performing at Barney concerts.
That's right.
But, you know, it's hard to kind of stick out of the pack.
What is it, do you think, has attracted kids to your sound?
Well, I think the fact that we are early childhood trained.
We're teachers.
You know, we know a little bit about child development and child psychology.
And we can combine that with the music.
We make it interactive.
You're like The [G] Wiggles rock.
[N] What are you going to perform for us this morning?
We're going to do two songs, a song called Hot Potato and a song called Monkey Dance.
And we've got some videos and CDs to start off your tour.
Oh, thank you so much.
Well, [G] ladies and gentlemen, singing Hot Potato, Hot Potato, one of my personal [Bb] favorites, The Wiggles.
