The Saints - (I'm) Stranded (1976) chords
Start Jamming...
Everybody knows about the Pistols and the Clash.
[A] But the Saints, like, they wore the wrong shape of trousers and had too long hair.
But the music was what it was all about.
This is [A#] punk rock as it should be.
[G#m] And, uh, they kinda [A] got kinda passed over in Britain because they didn't look right,
but [A] they were a band that were doing it for the right reasons.
Everybody else was trying to get a record deal.
This record came out in 1976.
[F] They beat the Pistols to it.
One of the [N] reasons why the Six Pistols got signed so quickly
is because they got this little single from Australia with I'm Stranded on it.
And McLaren flipped his
did his number and thought,
Ooh, we're gonna miss this.
And, um, quickly ran out and get them in the studio.
Some of these Australian bands already got there.
This single had a massive impact on me back in the late 70s, I guess it was.
It seemed to give us a generation, really, a license to be what we wanted to be.
It kinda gave us a kind of soundtrack to our lives.
We used to have a [F] game, a drinking game, when I was in high school.
Every time Chris [E] Bailey would go, Come [F#] on!
Or, Yeah, we'd have to drink.
[G#] This next one is one of the [D#] greatest songs of all time.
