Start Jamming...
67 was a year of change for [E] everybody.
[F] Turn on, tune in and drop out.
The hippie thing is for something.
We're not against anything.
[G] People come here to love one another, than to be in love with each [Bb] other.
[Eb] 67 was the explosion of drug culture.
[Bb] That's when it came into the open from underground.
Everybody started talking about it.
Just colour.
Just colour.
[Eb] Is it moving colour?
Is it patterns?
No, it's not patterns.
[Bb] Not patterns.
[F] LSD was about the most profound experience I'd ever [Bb] had.
I think of it as an escape from [F] the good things that are happening around us
and the bad things that are happening around us.
Why are you taking it?
To get high.
[B] We just want to be free to be what we want to be.
[F] [Bb]
The young [Eb] people [Bb] are a [Eb] little annoyed, frustrated [Bb] at society perhaps
and I can be in full sympathy with them because I feel the same.
[Eb]
There's been mounting [Bb] evidence [F] that the number of addicts in this country
of hard drugs, narcotics, has [Bb] been growing rapidly.
You've had a [C] drug.
Has it done [G] anything to you again?
Oh yes, [G] yes it's great.
In what way?
Colours have become quite a lot brighter.
Also I'm getting slight haze effects in the sky.
[F]
[Bb] Throughout this whole year we were having to put up with this incredible [Eb] hassle,
[Bb] this confrontation with policemen and judges.
Police said in evidence [Eb] today that when they entered the house
there was a [Bb] sweet smell of incense about.
[F] The prosecution said that this could be used to mask the rather unusual [Bb] odour
of hashish which was found around the house.
[C]
[F] [F] If one is alone in a private house, not doing any harm to anyone,
I don't really see why all these people should wander in and say
you're doing something wrong.
There were [Bb] certain aspects of that case, the things that went on behind the scenes
which are very [Eb] unsavoury and which once and for all destroyed [Bb] my faith
and impartiality of the English judicial system.
[Eb] The names of the other people who were at this weekend [Bb] party the police raided
and there were [F] seven men altogether and one woman,
haven't so far been divulged in court.
[Bb]
[Eb] [F]
During the years that I was quite involved and spent quite a few days on tour
with the Rolling Stones, I must say I didn't find them half as outlandish
as some papers did and I think this [Bb] is the reason that stories were created
quite deliberately [Eb] in order to nurture an image.
[Bb]
Stories were planted with the kind of [Eb] journalists who would best suit
that [Bb] kind of story and were often [F] exaggerated.
[Bb]
[F]
The Rolling Stones were dangerous and they were going to corrupt our youth
and [G]
certainly that was a part of the appeal.
[Bb]
[Eb]
[Bb]
[Eb]
[Bb] [F]
[Bb] The Rolling Stones had become not just a group but more a way of [Gb] life
and they were a way [E] of life to fans all over the world.
