_ _ [C] The first first thing once I already downloaded the sample off YouTube
I brought it into Edison.
I selected like a four bar loop [A] _ _ _ [F] _ _ _ _ _
_ [Em] _ and I [F#] started playing around with the tempo

[C] That worked in the 90s, but I knew that's not the groove that I wanted.
I played around with it for a [C#] while _
_ [A] I put reverb _ [F#] make it feel a little [C#m] bigger
_ After I added the reverb I had this plug-in called [A#] space effect and this plug-in has like a filter has delay and it has like
Modulations and whatnot so I can't really describe everything that it did to it, but it just gave like a weird like ambient [C#] sound

_ You can hear the [Bm] delay and the drowning it [C#m] warped it a little bit and _ _ _ _
_ _ [C#] _ then I went back to EQing
I took some more highs out

_ _ It's [F#] like a science project to [C#m] try and get them hi-hats out the right way without losing the vocals _ _
Then I put the filter and I think this is where I really like got the hats out for the [A] most part

[C#m] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ I added some delay
_ Another EQ once I filtered it out
It feels like it loses maybe a little bit quality or just lose a little bit of feel
So what I did was I put a stereo imager on it to just bring it back out and make it feel bigger
This is what we originally had _

_ [F#] The next thing I did was I put the bass line on it
So it's not took the bass out of the original sample
I wanted to put my own on there
_ So I already had like the notes that I wanted to use I already knew
So I just I clicked them in and I use a growl at Moog bass inside of Omnisphere and I just filtered it _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [G#] _ _ _ [A] I cut the end of [F#] the notes out just makes it feel a little bit more _ [G#] spacey and not [A] everything like all together
_ [F#] _ _ _ To kind of move it because [G#m] it's very like [A] stagnant sound
I felt like the only thing [C#] that I could really use to [C#m] move this was the hats
But I didn't want to [F#] overdo it
I still [A] wanted to make it easy to sing on [C#m] and easy to get on.
I added like another hi-hat [F#] underneath _ _ _ _ _
_ [G#m] Subtle and you probably won't [A] catch it _

[E] _ _ _ [A] _ The kick pattern is [G#m] spacey in parts, but [F#] then it gets busy in others when [G#m] the high has got a little bit [A] busy
I moved it with the kicks

I was going [C#] through
I got this snare from like a Johnny [C#m] Giuliano kit.
All the producers know it shots of Johnny Giuliano

Let me try and put a couple little things in there and fill it out _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Another thing from the Johnny Giuliano kit
[C#m] It's like a mimic from a Drake [F#m] song and I've always liked that loop.
So I [C#m] wanted to use it
_ I added a ton of effects to it
I added effect tricks and I added a gross beat which cut it in half [F#] so it stutters
_ _ _ Plays it in halftime without changing the tempo _ _
_ _ _ What I wanted to do was add [Bm] a couple more sounds like fill drums that kind of give it a little bit more [F#] bounce _ _ _ _
These little [G#m] background snares these like tapping snares _
Pandem left and right _ _ _ _ _ _ _ then I added like this chant _ _ which today I would probably never use but it made it in there

[F#] _ _ _ That just made it drop a little bit [G#m] better.
_ [A] And then you hear the sample everything's just [C#m] all clicked and worked as one
Man, I don't think I've [F#] ever been able to recreate that [A] feeling _ _
_ _ [C#] _ _ _ Obviously when I hear Deja Vu and I hear exchange I hear automatic similarities

Temple wise they're pretty close pitch.
I think they're [C#] exact drums [A] are automatically they're different

Their [D#] drums were a lot more busy
[C#m] the baseline was different but I can understand where those allegations and all that shit came from because you know to give people the benefit
Of the doubt like alright, maybe you just switch it up purposely.
