_ [Dm] _ when we know love in our own hearts,
[Bb] or when, like the Japanese poet Basho, we hear an old [F] frog land in a quiet pond with a [Bb] solitary splash. _ _ _
At such [Dm] times, the awakening, the turning [Bb] inside out of all values,
the newness, the [F] emptiness, and the purity of vision that make themselves [Bb] evident,
_ provide a glimpse of the cosmic dance.

For the [Bb] world and time are the dance of the Lord in emptiness.
_ [F] _ _ _ _ _ The silence of the [Bb] spheres is the music of a wedding feast. _
_ _ [Dm] _ _ The more we persist in [Bb] misunderstanding the phenomena of life, _
the [F] more we analyze them out into strange finalities [Bb] and complex purposes of our own.
The more we involve [Dm] ourselves in sadness, _ absurdity, and despair.

or stain the [Dm] joy of the cosmic dance which is always there.
