Hi, I'm Lenore.
I'm a singer and a voice teacher.
If you like, you can check my website SingWell.
If you want to win, try a lesson with me.
And today I'm going to see what for the first time Elvis Presley performing Peace in the Valley.
And I will give you my opinion of it.
So, let's see.
[E] Now he's going to sing a song.
[Eb] He feels that this is sort [Bm] of in the mood that he'd like to create.
[Dbm] Peace in the Valley.
Here is Elvis Presley.

[A] [D] [N] Okay, ooh, I like it.
Yeah, I envy his shoulders.
Oh my, his shoulders are like, like not budging at all.
He has zero shoulder tension.
I'm so jealous of that because shoulder tension was my biggest issue.
So no shoulder tension.
I don't see any tension anywhere actually, which is really nice.
And the result is just a really calm and deep voice.
Well, he has a deep voice naturally as well.
Yeah, his mouth and his jaw is very relaxed.
Even when he's not really opening it, it's still like sort of open.
It's just really relaxed.
So that's very attractive actually to look at.
[G]
[Bm]
[D] [G] I
[N]
guess that's just how he does it, the lifting of only the side of the lip.
Yeah, but that's, yeah, it's just a lift, right?
Many singers do that.
Yeah, let's keep watching.
I like it.

Okay.
Okay.
Yeah, so what I mainly see here is someone who's really centered.
So I like to call it like the narcissism in the best sense.
So if you're [A]
really focusing on where you are, where your instrument is,
and basically the voice comes to you, metaphorically.
So that's sort of what is happening here.
He's just [C] there.
[N]
Seriously, he's not doing anything.
He's just letting his voice be where it is.
Very, very impressive.
You don't need to make a lot of effort to impress people.
You don't need to go out to the audience.
You just do your thing.
Yeah, kudos.
I like that a lot.
I love it.
Yeah, is there any more?
Let's see if there's any more.
[Gb] I'm just looking at the violin.
[N] He's even got a happy violin look, so
Both of his.
As much [B] as he goes to the [D] post now for his new picture,
[Eb] this will be the last time [D] that we'll run into each other for a while.
But [Eb] I
I told the president of the country that this is a real, decent, fine boy.
And wherever [N] you go
I believe he is, Matt.
I believe he is.
Guys who accompany [Eb] you over there,
we [B] want to say that we've never had a [D] pleasanter experience on our show
with a big name than we've had with [Eb] you.
You're thoroughly all right.
So now, let's have a tremendous hand [N] for a very nice
Okay.
Well, even when he's just, you know
When he's just standing there and not singing, he is
I mean, he looks a little bit introvert.
I don't know if that's how he was, but
He's sort of like presenting himself the way he is.
And accepting what other people say,
accepting the screams of the audience,
just accepting his own voice.
And it just makes me feel very accepting of myself in general.
It's just very reassuring to see something like that.
So, yeah, it was cool.
Thanks for watching.
And if you have any comments or questions,
you're welcome to leave them below.
