I think every gospel song is a message from the Bible, [Gb] especially if it comes from God.
And when I [B] say we wrote all these songs, all we did [Gb] was held the pen [Eb] and he gave the message.
And it's all about him, not about us.
[Bb] And he's given us some [Eb] real goodness over the [E] past.
And I'll tell you what, folks, I'll never forget.
[Eb] We've got the Dobro guitar.
Y'all want Jerry to get that, that Dobro.
This was my first [E] love at about six years old.
We [E] lived at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains up there in [B] Manor in North Carolina.
We were [G] born and raised there.
And [A] I want to tell you young folks [D] something.
If you're [B] young, you're in the [F] mid-teens and stuff like [G] that.
But anyway, we didn't have much to look forward to [Db] when I was a child growing up.
[D] And this [F] Dobro here, [E] not just only me, but I think thousands of [N] people,
fell in love with music from this little Dobro I hear.
It's [F] called Made by the Doterio Brothers, is [Bm] what it's called.
But anyway, [A] the first [G] time I ever heard it, I'll never [N] forget it.
We had to drive about halfway up Blue Ridge Mountain.
There's two ways we could pick up the Grand Ole Opry.
One of them, we had to drive up the mountain and have the old car radio.
I don't know who was driving it.
[F] I forgot.
[Bm] But anyway, [E] we went up there about halfway up the mountain one night, one Saturday night.
And for the first time, I heard this Dobro.
Now [Eb] this song here that I'm fixing, we're going to do a verse in the course of it.
But this song was introduced to our nation with [Gm] this Dobro guitar.
I guess this was the first [E] time anybody [N] ever heard this instrument.
And I fell in love [E] with it.
And I've been loving music ever [F] since.
And it's inspired a lot of people to [Bb] do [Dm] music and start [Bb] learning to have a place with things.
[B] And it goes like this right here.
It's a [Eb] beautiful song, and we're just going to sing a couple of verses [G] of it.
I know you'll remember it.
What a beautiful thought I am thinking
[D] concerning the girl, [G] Chekhov her.
Remember her name is recorded
[C] [Bm]
on [D] the pages of God's [G] Holy Word.
[D]
[G]
[Am] [Bm]
Remember [D] that old song?
