I'm freezing!
I'm freezing!
[Ab] He's trying to make it warm!
I'm freezing!
[E] 1, 2, [Ab] 19, 20
Gary's his favourite, he counts really well
I've not done it yet
10 more seconds, you can do it!
Come [N] on, just get in!
25, 26, 27 28, 29
I'm done!
1, 2,
[Gb] 3, 4, 5
I think I'm frozen!
I've not done that in a [Abm] long, long time
Feeling alright?
I'm actually [Gb] feeling alright
Pshhh!
[Eb]
[G] [Bb] [Ab]
It's great, isn't [Eb] it?
Shame it's Man [E] City colours
but nice, it was [B] quite compact
[Ab] [B] [Abm] Tonight will be [Gb] our first show in a new venue
So we started the tour in Sunderland
[G] and we've done those shows successfully
[E] and all the [F] 56 or so trucks have transported all the gear
to this new venue now
[E] So tonight will be a [Em] tester really
because it'll be the first time we've performed on a transferred [Am] stage
and we're sort of [Em] looking forward to finding holes [Gb] where there weren't holes on the last show
and trap doors here and [E] bits of stairs missing there
because it's just been such a massive, it's a [D] gigantic stage set
This show takes [N] 300 people
and [A] 238 of them build the set
[N] and construct everything and make sure that it's all working as it did in the previous venue
There's always that worry that things are not going to work
like the elephant [Gb] might not come out
[Dm] or things might not move
[Gb] but we've just got to [D] get on with the show and see what happens really
If you think about it [A] too much, you'll just be nervous coming to every song
[A] The worst thing that could possibly happen to us is getting stuck on top of the elephant
You get everywhere you hear that camera
Yeah, we got [B] Howard to thank for these unicycles
because it was all his idea
[A] We wanted to do a little, bring a bit of circus into our own show
just the four of us guys and we thought tightrope walking was a bit risky
and we never got insurance for that
So unicycles was the next best thing and it was [Em] Howard's idea
Now we've started doing [Ab] gigs
[F] It's easy to neglect the unicycle practice
because you think, oh we've got it cracked
[Bb] the crowd have seen [Eb] it and appreciated it
the press have written about it and digged [B] it, hopefully
and it's easy to put them aside and think we don't need to train anymore
but [E] I've just done [G] 20 minutes in the car park
and it's just great to get a bit of mileage and get [F] the old legs working again
[Dm]
[Bb] [Gm] [C]
[F] [D] We've been quite brave, probably the bravest [Dm] that Tate that have been
[F] in any of their shows is that [Bb] we've done quite a lot of new catalogue
[F] based on the circus and the [Gm] show and the new album
[C]
but we're always [F] very conscious
and they are always very conscious of doing stuff that we know is going to be a hit
and what the audience have come to see
[Bb] Yeah, my two favourite sections of the show is
number one, the clown section where us lads dress as clowns
and do [F] old dancing scenes, we call it the boy band medley section
I love it because it's funny and comical
and it's us guys not being [B] too serious about things
[Gb] but B, I like the cleverness of it
I think if we tried to do a boy [F] band medley of our old 90s hits
[Gb] dressed not as clowns, just dressed as who we are
we might have looked a bit ridiculous in our late 30s, early [D] 40s
but because we're dressed as clowns, there's an irony [Gb] in there and a cleverness [Em] about it which I like
and my second favourite part [F] of the show is the band section
and that's for the opposite reasons because we are pretending we're rock and roll
and we are getting really serious about our music
and we're practising [Gb] instruments and [Eb] playing together as a real band
so those are my two highlights for [A] those two reasons
Do you feel it?
There he [Abm] is
He's always invading my [Am] space
Don't put the camera on [E] him, get it over here, I'm talking [A] to you
I don't know if you can hear me but we've just arrived
[B] We're just going to do a sound check, about one in the [G] afternoon
[D] [A]
[G] We've taken that as able to bring as many elements into the show as possible
so we do what we've always done, [A] that is sing and dance and do these huge productions
but then if we can get on a unicycle, then if we can get dressed as clowns
and then if we can play instruments and sing together as a real band
then that brings lots of pleasure for us as well, so it's brilliant
[Db]
Mark's not with us
Stop for Mark, stop for [Gb] Mark Paul
He was late this morning, wasn't he Mark?
Here we are, as [Ebm] usual, [C] Mark's late
Can't even get on stage at the right time
[Gb] [A] Here he comes, he's coming
[Gb] Sorry guys
Does your jacket feel like it's shrunk?
Hey listen, every time I put on the right of my clothing on I feel like it's shrunk
[E] I'm glad yours has [F] too, I feel a bit better
I feel a bit better about the fact that I'm breathing in all the way through the show
I did have a [Bb] couple of cheese toasts
Rule the world!
Oh my god for that
I did have a couple of cheese toasts
[F]
[Bb]
[G] [F]
[Eb] [N] Move like you got a pair boys
Slow down [C] Owen, don't slow down, don't you dare stay out here boys
Not a day goes by where you, [N] if you focus long enough on it
you can just [F] be having a shower in the morning, you know, whatever
just doing your normal [Bb] mundane jobs of the [D] day
and every now and again you check it out
because it's just, it's gone much bigger than anyone's imagined
[F] and we have this joke in the band
what we think [Dm] one day Ant and Dec are going to jump out and go
[C] Lads we're only joking, we've been blagging you for a while for a TV show
[F] this new reality show where we blag [Gm] pop stars and letting them believe that [C] they're still pop stars
[F]
