My Baby, She's Alright by a great Boston man called Scruffy the Cat that I'm sure you've never heard of.
A lot of the philosophy of this project was sort of to take stuff that probably most people hadn't heard.
There's a couple like Paint It Black and whatnot that are more popular, but this is certainly one that a lot of people won't know.
And that's by design.
It's just a great rock song.
Some really great guitars, up-tempo.
Most of this stuff is up [E]-tempo.
And that's what we were all about at the [Ab] time, three chords and a clavadesc.
[Eb] Once again, [A] a very little [Abm]-known college radio band that was a blip on screen and [G] just had this amazing [Eb] song with this amazing sound.
And a blabbering harmonica in the intro, which I [Abm] just played after I learned the part.
[Eb] But no, this song was really great.
We actually saw these guys play it at the Decade.
I can't [Ab] remember if we played a show with them.
I don't think we did.
But yeah, these guys were [Eb] a huge influence on us.
[N] We covered a number of tunes by a limited number of bands.
And I think Scruffy, boy, we could probably recount and play maybe seven or eight or ten songs right off the bat without having to rehearse.
The Scruffy the Cat catalog is pretty deep in our book.
My Baby She's Alright by Scruffy the Cat, written by a fella named Charlie Chesterman, who's no longer with us.
There's an excellent Scruffy the Cat Greatest Hits CD out there.
I think it's $13.
It'll be the best $13 you've ever spent in your life.
I promise.
If you don't [G] like it, call me.
I'll give you $13.

[G] She drags me into the woods [D] when she gets behind the [B] wheel.
In the [C] desert, in the hottest fires, in the [G] houses and over the [Gb] [E] seas.
In [C] the cities, in the telephone wires, [E] they all talk about what she needs to me.
[G] Cause my baby, [F] [G] she's alright.
My [F] baby, [G] she's alright.
My baby, she's alright.
My [F] baby.
[G]
She's got that certain something, man, I hope you know what I'm talking about.
If you ever had a lover that was really sweet, [D] yeah, walking down the street when you turn on the light.
Cause my baby, [G] she's alright.
My baby, she's alright.

I know you must have heard about her.
You know everything they say [C] is true.
[D] I suppose you know what [C] she means to me.
[D] And if you don't, then what's the matter with [Em] you?
Well, haven't [C] you been listening to me?
Well, [D] I just said, [E] someone [C] tried to show me something [D] better.
I have to say I'm not interested because my baby, [G] she's alright.
My baby, she's [D] alright.
My baby, [G] she's alright.
My baby.
Yeah, yeah, she's alright.
My baby, she's [D] alright.
