Today on Rift Spirits and Gear we check out the cheapest guitar on reverb.
[Eb] [Bb]
[Ebm] [Gb] One of the very first comments I got on my original
cheapest guitar on Amazon was do the cheapest guitar and reverb and I thought oh
[Gm] Man, that's that's gonna be bad.
And I assure you I think it's gonna be bad.
I haven't opened it yet
But it [G] was bad when I ordered it at the time.
Now reverb is primarily a used gear website
So [Eb] the guitar couldn't be new
I mean if I happen to find a cheapest one that was new fine
But I wasn't necessarily going to let whether the guitar was new or used be a deal-breaker now
I ordered this in [Gm] the middle of November now right now as of this filming today.
It's Christmas Day [Cm] and
There's lots of good deals
So you guys always leave in better deals in the comments of oh I saw a guitar for $15
Or I saw a guitar for $25.
That wasn't the case
there was no huge Black Friday specials or Christmas Day specials when I ordered this guitar in the middle of
November so
Let's open this thing up.
Shall we?
[Eb] [Ab] Oh, [Bb]
[Eb] I do love the high-quality gig bags as you guys know, let's [Ab] see what we got here.
[C] [Cm] [Eb]
Oh
Sweet [Cm]
sweet.
This is a very used Dean
Vendetta on the listing.
It's actually Vendetta.
But as you can see there are multiple
Huge chips in the finish the tips of the headstock have been broken off
Yeah, that's a guitar I guess
[C] [Eb] Yeah
So we're gonna tune this up and we're gonna see how it sounds
You guys have not been very happy about me using an expensive amp
So I am NOT going to use the Mesa boogie JP to see and instead I'm gonna use an even more expensive amp
I'm gonna use a $4,000 Hughes and Ketter triamp because
This is my channel and I'll do what [D] I want
[F] Also, the reason why I do that is because if the guitar sounds terrible, we know it's the guitars fault not the amps fault
So yeah, I'm just gonna do a little casual playthrough
We're gonna do a little strummy strum and we're just gonna see how this thing sounds
[G] [Gb] [E]
[G] [E]
[D] [G] [E] [A]
[E]
[A] [G] [E]
[Em] [C] [G]
[Am] [Em] [A] [E]
[B] [E]
[C] [Bb]
[Bbm] [D]
[A] [C] [G] [Em]
So for $70, what did I really get?
I got a decent guitar now
I have not tried one of these [Ab] brand new so I have to judge this guitar this particular guitar as
It came and this is a used guitar
There are huge gouges in the fingerboard
Like someone like may have thought of scalping it and then change their mind
I'm not really sure although I will note that the neck is like doing
This it's kind of a snake shape.
[Gm] So
[E] [Cm] The the neck has a lot of issues like a lot of issues
I think that's because this guitar has been clearly abused not I can't say for sure
Whether this is inherent on all Dean Vendetta guitars or not.
The weights good the knobs feel good
the neck profile is
Good, I think with the proper setup some fresh strings and I don't know maybe [Ab] some TLC
This could be a really decent guitar.
This doesn't feel super terrible.
This is a totally different feel overall
Then
[Fm] something like the cheapest guitar from eBay, which when you pick it up, it feels like [Cm] a
Painted chopstick.
I mean, it's it's really bad.
This actually honestly
Doesn't feel super terrible and I am NOT a fan of Dean guitars personally.
It's just a personal preference
Calm down Dean fans, but overall
[F] Not a bad guitar if you can find one of these used.
I mean, like I said, this was 70 bucks
When I got it on reverb in the middle of [Gm] November
Decent even though it's dinged up.
This will be a great starter guitar.
I'll probably
Give it to my nephew or something like that
I don't know but either way I don't feel like I got a bad deal all the pick [B] of the links down below in the
Description you've been wonderful.
I've been fluff.
Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you next time
