[E] Hello [N]
and welcome everyone to hot sunny and muggy Melbourne
I'm here with the only 10 piece we've ever had on the balcony here today the cactus channel, so it's pretty exciting
So we're all expecting a pretty big wall of sound from these guys
So what are you going to be playing for us today?
We're playing Emanuele Ciccolini.
It's the first
Our second single coming out in late March, and yeah, it's named after my great-grandfather great.
Yeah, all right.
Let's hear it

You
Well that really was something
There's a lot of energy and all that music you guys put out.
I'm a little blown away
So I guess that might have been one of the reasons that you guys managed to win the triple-j unearthed high composition last year
They got you opening at harvest
We became a finalist yeah
Now that was certainly a
Really good experience
I don't know just get noticed and be able to play those sorts of shows
Well, and um how did you find just being part of the festival of that magnitude like meeting all the really famous artists and stuff
That was that pretty exciting as well
Good, I mean like yeah, well obviously we weren't you know backstage mingling with you know Portishead and and stuff like that, but um
It's good to you know see yourself up on a bill
You know with all these artists, and then you know even if you're somewhere down below
It's you know at least you're getting some decent exposure.
Yeah, they did offer us an artist massage though, but [Gm] not many
We had to we had to see some bands
Okay, [Ab] priorities.
I like that yeah
So getting ten people together to practice consistently must take quite a lot of coordination like how do you guys go about?
Like writing songs and who who has the final say and the influence over the various parts.
How does that work?
Because [D] there's so many of us
It's kind of hard to kind [B] of go you know email out everyone and go hey you learn this song learn this part when we
Come in so it's pretty much.
Just like [N] someone will have
Pretty much a whole idea of a song and then we just go right get to Hudson's house
We're having practice and then it's like try and pump it out as much as we can it usually takes about three practices because we forget
[D] It yeah, that's pretty much how it goes
[D] And I kind of felt like I was getting a few old-school influences coming through there as well
Like do you guys have a few artists who you all like in common who you would attribute some of your musical [N] master?
Take our influence.
I don't know James Brown initially is the first kind of old old influence, and then there's a few others
We a lot of it early New Orleans stuff and even today.
Yeah dumb the Daptone label
At the moment is you know a huge
Yeah, they're probably the biggest influence on our music
Cool and so you guys are playing st.
Kilda festival
Which because it's quite a long festival I understand about two weeks long so what day and we're about to you playing
We're playing on the festival Sunday, so I have to check my calendar
We're playing on the shit.
I haven't actually read it down
I think we're playing on the new music stage at about 130 the nights of 12 12th of February
So you have it around 1230 was it one what 130 sorry 130 on the 12th of February?
We'll get good.
Yeah, get it by leaving just to be safe
Because if that little snivel is anything to go by these guys are gonna be absolutely epic so
Make sure you get down there.
We'll see you [E] then
