What's it about?
Well, as we have pointed out in the course of this show, several
strong cultures come together in the San Antonio area and when you take the
strongest of those, cowboys, German, [G] and Mexican, put them all together in a song,
you get Tex-Mex music.

[D#m] [Bm] Because it represents a blending of several
cultures, Tex-Mex music comes in a variety of [F#] sounds.
Sometimes it is more
Tex, [Em] other times it is more [F#m] Mex.

[C#m] [E] Orchestral Monte Carlo is a group whose music is closer to [F#] the mariachi feeling.
[G#] Hearing it inspires visions of dancing and fiestas and [F#] the Spanish heritage.

[Am] [D]
It
was the German influence in South [G] Texas that inspired Santiago Jimenez in 1935.
He took their polkas, added a dash of his own hot sauce, and created the [D] first
Tex-Mex music.

[N] Sounds like the same German polkas and Spanish polkas, it just sounds the same
thing.
Only thing is that the Germans, when they play, they play this slow.
We
play a little faster.

Now how [F] would that sound if you added the Tex-Mex [G] flavoring to it?

One of the most appealing elements of
ethnic music is the [G] emotion it can reflect, the glimpse it provides into the
