[E] Hi, I'm Corey Witt from Taylor Guitars here at Sweetwater walking through the entire Taylor product line.
The guitar that I'm holding right now is the Big Baby Taylor.
Now you've probably seen the Baby Taylor, which is our little 22, 23 inch long acoustic guitar.
That's more of a travel guitar.
The Big Baby Taylor is one step up from that one.
With a solid Sitka spruce top, it has a nice loud progressive sound to it, a lot of snap
to it, right?
A Sitka spruce top has a high volume ceiling, a fast attack, [Abm] and when you dig in, it gets
nice and loud for you.
[E] The back and sides of the Big Baby Taylor are laminate Sapele.
Now Sapele is a more readily available version of mahogany, but what characterizes mahogany
is a nice warm mid-range and an even keeled response.
So with this particular guitar, you get a lot of warmth, a lot of body, but you also
get a lot of snap out of that Sitka spruce top.
Because of this, when [G] you dig in, it gets nice and loud.
So let's say you're the kind of player who wants that extra guitar to bring to the campfire,
to bring camping, to the beach, to the lake.
The Big Baby is a great guitar for that because if something happens to your guitar while
camping, you don't want to have to replace a $2,000 guitar.
Big Baby's perfect for that.
Let's say that you're not an established player.
You're an entry level player and you're trying to get your first guitar.
Maybe you don't want to buy a Baby Taylor that's so small you want to feel like something
is a full-sized guitar, what we'll call a real guitar.
Big Baby's perfect for that as well.
A lot of times we want to get into guitar playing without that $2,000 investment just
to see if it's the right thing for us.
The Big Baby is perfect for that.
Again, it's everything Taylor, so it sounds like a Taylor and it plays like a Taylor,
but it allows you to get it in your hands at a valuable price, at a cheaper price.
[E] [Am] The Big Baby Taylor now in 2012 comes with a solid black rosette.
You're starting to get some of those appointments that you're going to see on some higher end Taylor guitars.
Again, this is an entry level guitar or an extra guitar, but it's also the perfect segue
from the non-player into the player or for the player into someone who wants to play
more often in a variety of different places.
This is the Big Baby Taylor.
I'm Corey Witt.
