[F] [C]
Lots of music for you from my latest album [F] called Mess Around, [C] which I hope some of you have out there.
Alright?
If not, I think we have some here tonight for you.
And if you do know it, sing along.
This is called Mess Around.
Baby, [G]
you think that I'd be [C] stupid
Don't you trust [F] me
I don't wanna [D] lose ya
[G] Come [C] to tell me one thing
[E] And tell me another
[F] Why you got somebody [C] working undercover
You think I'm messing around
[Dm] Messing around with [C] your heart
[G] [A] [C] Messing [G] around
I don't wanna [Cm] lose ya
Well, I'm very excited to be [C] performing at Tanglewood.
In fact, [G#] it's kind of close to my [G] heart because my first [N]
performance, my first huge [C] performance as a young singer was with the Boston Pops at Symphony [F] Hall.
So tonight is a special night [F#] for me because, of course, this is [Gm] the summer home of the Pops.
[A] And yet I'm here with my own [Gm] band several years later.
[G] So it feels like a really nice, [C] [G]
you know, [B] evolution of my career.
And it's [E] exciting to be here at such a beautiful [F#] space.
And [G] I'm looking forward to the show.
[C] The craziest [E] thing you think I've ever [F] claimed
I'm not

[F] Tell you that I love [F#] you every time
[E] Messing around
[G] I'm gonna mess around [A] with you all night [Gm] Oh yeah
[G] [D]
Tonight, [N] what I do, I actually have [F] a horn section with me tonight.
So I'll be playing with my full band.
And we're gonna be doing a mix of blues and soul and jazz music.
Which is [F] partly [C] original music and partly some [B] standards and pop tunes that I've [F#] rearranged in such a [G#m] way.
My influences are [G] Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Aretha [F] Franklin.
Kind of a [G] soulful [Em] collection of [F] music.
And [A#]
[Dm] energetic, I guess.
You [C] was first in line
[F]
[G]
[C]
[Dm] You really [F#] loved me
[E]
[G] [C]
[G] [D] I just [F#] finished recording my new [G#] album about three weeks ago.
So I'm [E] gearing up to actually do a lot of promo for that.
And [C] getting ready to [B] just start putting that whole project out.
[G] And that takes a long time.
It's a long process.
So for me, [F#m] directly from here, I'm gonna be [E] returning to Boston.
[F#] Because [C#] I'm getting an award from Berklee College of Music on Sunday.
So [Em] this [N] weekend is turned into the Boston New England reunion.
Because I'm seeing so many familiar faces, which is really nice.
But in the long run, I have a CD coming out [A] in the spring [B] of 2011.
So I'm really [C] working to [B] get that moving.
[E]
[A] [G] Love you baby
[F]
[D] [F] [G] It's alright, you can have [A] a good time.
