Take Heart (Again) The Heart Behind the Album - Hillsong Worship chords
Start Jamming...
[C#] We thought it'd be really awesome to pull [E] together on a project specific to this season
that would be a blessing to people, that would help people in some ways.
That's kind of where this thing started.
It was just kind of talking, the Young and Free guys, the Worship guys, Brooke and [C#m] myself
were just like, wouldn't it be cool to [C#] pull a bunch of songs from the back [F#] catalog?
Some of them [E] everybody knows and some maybe people have [B] never heard before because they
get lost in the midst of it, but [C#m] each and every single one of them I think is really timely.
[C#] [E]
[C#m]
I [E] think songs occupy such a special place in the lives of humans and such a special
place [B] certainly in the lives of believers.
Songs are memorials to things God has done.
Songs are [E] evidence and testimony that God is moving right now.
We as Hillsong Church, we have a mantle to bring the new song to the body of Christ.
So we'll always bring the new song.
But also in a season like this, when we as the church are coming together, just like
every other local church to pull off services week after week, we've revisited a lot of
these declarations and confessions that have been part of our legacy of song of our house,
Hillsong Church.
[B]
[C#m] There's songs that take me back [G] to my childhood when I was [Em] forming my own faith, forming my
own belief and getting that revelation of who [A] Jesus is for [D] myself.
Songs like Eagle's Wings and still, you know, I have [G] distinct memories [Em] of being a child
and being in [D] the room when those songs were sung for the very first time.
[A] It just reminds me of this [D] kind of soundtrack to my relationship with Jesus.
[G]
[E]
[A] [D] [C] We believe that these songs, you know, that they represent that the foundation [G] is fully
planted in the word of God and the word of God is [Am] timeless.
It's good for every season.
[F] And some of the melodies are, [C] you know, they're just melodies.
They come and go.
Some of them are timeless.
Some of them, they're just melodies.
But it's that word, the word of [Am] God that like kind of soaks the depths of what these [F] songs
have come out of and how they [C] connect with the human experience.
[Am] We were deliberate about [F] choosing songs for this [C] project that could [Am] be confessions which
in your mouths bring [F] life again, really [C] critical confessions about God's [Am] lordship, about peace,
about stillness in the presence [F] of God, about our hope being numbed [C] at Jesus, all of these things.
But [Am] ultimately that this album title encapsulates what we pray [F] as a move that we take [C] heart
again as believers.
That [Am] is, that is again, we read a headline as again, we get a report, whether good or
bad that [C] we remember that as believers [Am] in this season, we take heart again.
We put our hope in [F] Jesus again.
We confess his lordship again.
We open our mouths in praise [Am] and worship again because he is always worthy and because he
has been faithful [F] in the past and he will be faithful [C] again.
So we can take heart [G] again.
[F]
[C] [G] [F]
[C] I [G] get overwhelmed thinking about [F]
the world that we live in and how [Em] tumultuous it is and
how it is so volatile.
[F] Anything could happen [C] and nothing so crazy could [G] happen that would actually surprise
us because the times are [F] so weird and so crazy.
[C] And I love the [G] fact that God is the same [F] yesterday, today [C] and forever.
And so when I think [G] about these songs, people hearing these songs for the very [F] first time
and having [C] moments where they encounter [G] the presence of God and they encounter the [F] saving
grace of Jesus, [C] it fills me with so much, [G] with so much hope.
[F]
[C] [G] In the spectrum of human experience, you [F] know, people are suffering in [C] different ways, different
things, but in the [G] midst of it, God is faithful and his grace is good enough for every single person, [F] sufficient.
He meets us where he's [C] at.
His peace is an equal [G] measure to whatever chaos or confusion is going on in our lives.
[F] He's good like that.
He's really good like [C] that.
And so I think these [G] reminders, you know, say like, take heart, like, yeah, didn't we
sing that song like [Dm] however long ago, it was on an Aftermath [C] album, we took heart then.
And it's like, no, no, it's not [G] just a once off.
It's every day.
Take heart again.
[F]
Breathe again.
[C] Trust God again.
[G] Take another step again.
You know, [F] believe again.
Turn up again.
[G] Love your neighbor again.
Be kind to people again.
[C] Be patient again.
All that good stuff.
[G] [Am]
