[E]
[Am] [D]
[C] [Am] [F]
[G] [C] [Am] [F]
[G] [C] Sweet [E] Pea, apple of my [Am] eye
Don't know when [D] and I don't know why
[C] You're the [Am] only reason [F] I keep [G] on coming [C] [Am] home
[F]
[G] [C] Sweet Pea, [E] what's all of this about?
[Am] Don't get your way, [D] all you do is fuss and [C] pout
You're the only reason [F] I keep [G] on [C] coming home
[Am] [F]
[G] I'm [E] like the rock I drew Pralter
I always seem to falter [Am] and the words just get in the way
[D] Oh, I know I'm gonna crumble and I'm trying to stay humble
[G] But I never think before I sing
[C] [E]
[Am] [D]
[C] [Am] [F]
[G] [C] [Am] [F]
[G] [C] Sweet Pea, [E] keeper of my soul
[Am] I know sometimes [D] I'm out of control
[C] You're the only reason [F] I keep [G] on coming
[C] You're the only reason I [F] keep on [G] coming, yeah
You're the only [Am] reason [F] I keep on [G] coming [C] home
[G]
Alright, the strum is very deliberate, very slow, very bluesy.
Almost plodding, like you're tired.
It's not an even strum, like a
It's more [C] of a bouncy one.
The [Ab] up-strum [C] stroke is faster.
The down is the [Eb] deliberate one.
The fingering, if you notice with the left, or with the chords,
you might have a little trouble with a D or something like that.
They actually fall nicely from [C] one chord to the next.
You've got your C [Bb] down already and then you [A] drop more down.
[E] You just slide your ring finger in for the E7.
[Am] You've got your A minor, and then [D] you just drop them down onto the D.
[N] So see, they kind of flow together nicely.
I'll just go through the song from the intro straight through the bridge.
In slow motion, close up on my hand,
so if you find that helpful with chord transitions or with the strum,
you can play along with that.
