I'm going to be just teaching it here on an acoustic because it's easiest for me to play and talk over at the same time
But you could see me playing electric in the intro
It's probably best to play on electric if you want to get it to sound [B] just like what Sturgill is doing
But it's going to be based around riffs
That do pull-offs with either your ring or your pinky finger, whichever is easiest for you
So the first set of notes is going to be alternating between a B and an A
The sixth string seventh fret and the sixth string five fret so go ahead and put your first finger on the sixth string five fret
And then either your ring or a pinky finger on the sixth string seventh fret
_ And you're going to hit the sixth string seventh fret and then [A] pull off your pinky finger or your second [A#] finger to your first finger
And [B] that's going to repeat _
And _ _ _ _ _ [A] that [Em] might be something that you just have to [B] practice to be able to get that rhythm on
But as far as the plucking hand goes, I'm just hitting
_ The sixth string seventh fret and then pulling off and then hitting sixth string seventh fret again, so I'm really [N] just hitting
But _ _ _ [Em] the pull-offs give it that _ _
[C#] that [B] feel to it.

[G] So that's all [B] I'm hitting
But _ [D#] the pull-offs are [Em] making it sound like

seven and a half counts of that like one [Bm] and two and three and four and one and two and three and four and
So in the last and we're gonna jump to the five string [C#] five fret one and two and three and four and one [G] two and
Three [C] and I'm sorry, it's not four and it's [D] the three [B] and
1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & [Bm] 2 & 3 & 1 & 2 [C#] & 3 & 4 & 1 [B] & 2 & 3 &
I'm counting 1 and 2 & 3 & 2 3 & so the ones would be the [A] ring finger
The ands would be the first finger [C#] 1 & 2 & 3 & [B] 4 & 1 & [Dm] 2 & 3 &
and that 3 and the [D#] and of 3 you're moving to the 5 string [Dm] _
[G] 5 fret and
you'll pull that note as you hit it [B] and then right back.
_ _ [Bm] [E] Alright so once you
accomplish that the next movement is the exact same thing you're just doing it
one set of strings down so you're on the 5 string 7 fret and [Dm] 5 string [G] 5 fret.
_ _ _ Now [N] on this note that gets pulled and bent the 4 string 5 fret it gets
[G] _
pinched which is kind of hard to do on an acoustic and I'm really not that
great of doing it on electric either.
_ _ There you go so the way that you pinch
a note is [N] you're basically grabbing the string with a little bit of pick and a
little bit of your thumb or first finger a little bit of [Am] flesh so that the mute
[G] so that the note gets a little bit muted [C] and you're pulling out a harmonic from a
[G] fretted note _ _ _ [Em] so that's something that's something that I need to practice I
don't really play a whole lot of pinches but and _ then back [A] to the 6
[G#] string and then you come down to so [A] _ _ [Bm] _
[F#] that's going to be an F [E] sharp and an E
that you're alternating [F#m] between so first finger on the 6 string 6 fret [E] to open so _
[F#] you're pulling off for that open [E] hit [F#] pull off hit [E] pull off hit pull off hit
_ _ _ [F#] and then on the [Dm]
and of 3 [A] your pinched note here is going to be I'm playing it
on the 3 string 2nd fret [B] you might rather play it on the 4 string 9 fret
I'm sorry on the 4 string [A] 7 fret I'm _ [N] not sure where Sturgeon's playing it but
[F#] after the it [F#m] _ [Em] _ goes [G] back to _ the _ [F] [N] 5 string 7 fret and 5 fret and then back [B] down to
the 6 string and [G] _ repeats after doing that [Dm] for the first round you then hear a
break where it switches to _ _ _ so it's the exact same rhythm but now you're on the
5 string 5 fret and 5 [C] string [D] 3 fret _ _
_ [F] _ [B] _ moving to the 4 string [F] 3 fret for the
pinched note [B] and then back to the B and a _
_ [D] _ then back to the D and C on the 5
[F] string [G] and then it comes up to _ _ _ to the 7 fret of the 5 string and then down to
the 2nd fret of the 6 [F#] string _ but after one round of those pull-offs _ [A] _ _ [A#] _ [B]
it walks
back up by going hit pull hit [Em] pull hit pull and then [A] 6 string 5 fret 6 [A#] string
6 fret [B]
and then back into 6 string 7 fret _ there's [D] _
[G#] _ another change that
happens in this song what is it I'm actually forgetting what it is Oh the
lead break [A] _ [C] so [N] the lead [E] break is going to be happening between [G] an A and a G so
you've got this is the last riff of the song you've got the 6 string 5 fret and
6 string 3 fret that you'll be alternating between [A] _ and _
[C] _ [B] then the 5
string [Cm] 3 fret for your [Am] pinched note [C]
and [N] _ _ it vamps on that for a while before I
think it might just end right there in that if it doesn't if I'm forgetting
where it ends it comes up to if it doesn't just end in that vamp it comes
back up to one of these other options of either between the 6 string 7 and 5
or between the 5 string 7 and 5 or the [Gm] 5 string [Cm] 5 and 3 it comes back to one of
those maybe but I'm almost certain that it just ends in that vamp between the 6
[A] string [G] 5 fret and 3 fret
