Steve Tyrell - I'll Take Romance chords
Start Jamming...
[E] [Gb]
[Db] I'll [Ebm] take romance [Fm] while my arms are [E] strong and eager for you.
[Eb] My new album, I'll Take Romance, was [Db] born out of so many [Dbm] people coming [D] to me over the
years telling [Em] me [Dbm] how they've used my [E] music at their weddings or at their very special [B] events.
Making this [Gb] particular collection of songs, I've been [Em] recording for [Fm] a few years, I [Gb] just
would go in every once in a [D] while and [Ab] just record some songs that I was [Eb] in love with.
And after a [Db] couple of years, I felt like I had an album [Ab] that [Eb] I wanted to release.
And thank God for Concord Records and [F] John Burke, he agreed with me.
[Fm] There is [Gm] nothing for [Bbm] me but to love [Eb] you just the [Fm] way you look [Eb] tonight.
[Cm] Of course, The Way [Bb] You Look Tonight is a song that changed my life.
It was written by [F] Jerome Kern and Dorothy [Gb] Fields.
And Dorothy Fields said that when she heard the [Eb] melody of that song, it made her [B] cry.
President Clinton told me last year when he came to see me at the Cafe [Bbm] Carlisle, he came
with Chelsea [Eb] and [Ebm] Mrs.
Clinton, and he told me that he [G] danced [Abm] with Chelsea to me singing
[Db] The Way You Look Tonight.
So that song has been [G] such a blessing to me.
I'll never forget Steve Martin telling me after that first movie, [B] he said, [Db] man, you
should make an album of this stuff.
And I said, who would buy [Gb] it?
And he said, I would.
[Db] And he did.
[G] At last, [Cm] [F] my love [Gm] has come along.
[Cm] [F] My lonely days [Gm] are over.
[Cm] And life is [G] like a [Bbm] song.
At [Bm] Last, of course, [Eb] which is the opening track of the album, is a song I've [Gm] wanted to sing
for a long time.
But most of the time it's [Cm] sung by women, you know.
[F] Because I'm making this album, [Bb] and it's specifically kind of geared toward people that are in love
and [Ebm] that are getting married, it gave me a chance to sing that song.
[G] And I have a sensitive side.
[Ab] The best musicians in the world are playing on this [Gm] album.
My buddies I've been [Bb] working with.
This is my ninth album.
And [Eb] pretty much the core band [Abm]
has [Ab] been with me from the beginning.
[Fm] There's a couple of cuts with Johnny [Eb] Garin playing drums, who was a legendary [Bb] drummer
who had passed away since [Eb] we recorded some of these tracks.
And then [Ab] there's Plaz Johnson.
He's [Eb] one of the legendary saxophone players.
And Judith Hill is an artist [A] that I met when I [G] was producing [Abm] Rod Stewart's [Gm] Soul Book album.
So she's [Cm] somebody that's special to me that I always wanted to [Fm] introduce to the [Bb] world.
Talk to Me [Eb]
[Ab] [B] [Eb]
is [Cm] one of my favorite songs of [Bb] all time.
It was originally written by [C] Joe Seneca, but originally [Ab] sung by Little Willie John, [D] who
was a great rhythm and [Eb] blues artist.
We all grew up [Bbm] with the rhythm and blues singers.
They were [D] the biggest influence on us.
And this guy, [G] Little Willie John, [Cm] certainly was with me.
So I always wanted to do this song, Talk [G] to Me.
And I finally got around to having an album that I could put it on.
So I'm excited for it to now be [C] released where [Fm] more of my [C] audience and more of my fans can hear it.
They've been asking me for this [D] album.
I'm very proud of it.
It's [Bb] very romantic.
[G] I'm hoping my fans will get this album, get a bottle of wine, go home, light the fire,
[B] snuggle up, and I take no responsibility for what happens [Dm] after that.
