[G#] Well, thank you very much.
Two more shows in Australia on this run tonight and tomorrow night.
It's been, I'm glad I made it out this time.
Didn't make it last time because I got sort of tangled up in this television show and
we just couldn't make it work.
But I didn't want to miss it this time.
I [G] think one of the reasons that I like to play here so much is because there are probably
more [E] ways than any of us care to admit that Americans and Australians are alike.
In good ways and in bad ways.
And
[A] we both have had our problems with politicians over the last couple of generations and right
now, boy things are really interesting here right now.
But you know I think one of the things that I've seen happen in [Em] both countries is whenever
politicians can't, things are really going to hell in a hand basket like they are right
now, they immediately start talking about immigration.
And they want to convince us that our problems are because those other people are coming
in and taking our jobs and they're doing this and they're [A] doing that.
[F#] Truth of the matter, our jobs are being packed up and sent away to other [A] places.
And these guys are involved.
And this country and [Am] my country, the main thing I think we have in common is that immigration
is our past, it's our present, and if we have a fucking [F#] future, it'll be part of our future as well.

Living in a city of immigrants, I don't need to [D] go traveling.
Open door and the world walks in.
[E] Living in a city [A] of immigrants.
Living in a city that never sleeps.
Hard keeping [D] time for a thousand beats.
Singing languages I don't speak.
[E] Living in a city [A] of immigrants.
[E] City of black, city [A] of white,
[D] [A] city [E] of light, city of innocence, city of sweat,
city [A] of tears,
[E] city of prayers, city [A] of immigrants.

[E] Living in a city where the [A] dreams of men reach up and touch [D] the sky and land,
tumble back down to earth again.
[E] Living in a city [A] that never quits.
[E] Living in a city where the streets are [A] paved with good intentions
[D] and a people's faith, sacred promises that you made.
[E] Living in a city [A] of immigrants.
[E] City of stone, city [A] of steel, [E] city of wheels, house [A] and life spinning.
[E] City of bone, city [A] of skin, city [E] of pain, city [A] of immigrants.
