Welcome back.
With Buffalo Springfield and Crosby Stills dashing young or even
as a solo artist, Stephen Stills has been [E] a major player in the [Em] landscape of
popular music for the [B] last five decades.
By [E] the way, he's a Texan.
Our Texas legend
this time, the great [A] Stephen Stills.
[E]
[A]
[Em] [E] I [A] [E]
didn't realize, and I think a lot of people don't, I didn't know he was a Texan.
[Em] Now I love him even more.
[B] Stephen Stills I went to see the other [E] night at the Moody
Theater [D] and I've never seen Stephen Stills.
I mean I'm a biggest [G] Buffalo
Springfield fan in the world.
I mean that's when I was playing, [D] first
playing in rock [E] bands and [D] they were my favorite band ever.
And of course Crosby
Stills.
I mean just all the songs you know and Stephen Stills, his vocals, his
guitar [G] playing, his songwriting.
Legendary as it [D] gets, American wise, American
history [E] of rock pop-ish music that he's written, [D] performed.
He was great [G] man.
He
looked great, he played great, [D] sang great.
He [A] didn't do some of the songs I wanted
to hear, but there's so many [E] of them.
I mean you know how could you?
But it was
wonderful [B] seeing him.
Love him.
I think he's [A] absolutely one of the best ever.
[E] [B]
[E]
[Em] Stephen Stills man, I [A] mean yeah he's pretty awesome.
I mean you know from
[E] Buffalo Springfield to [B]
CSNY [Ebm] to his solo stuff and then Manassas and then [Db] doing
stuff with Neil Young, [Ab] like you know Neil Young, Stephen Stills records.
I mean
[Eb] he's definitely one of the things that was put in [Ebm] my ears at a really young age
that just kind of like, oh this is, [Ab]
what is this, what's this music thing all about?
Why does this make [Gb] you feel good like [Eb] that?
You know and he definitely, yeah I
mean he's a legend man.
[Bbm]
[Eb]
[Gb] [Eb]
I think he [Em] played acoustic guitar on Use Me by Bill Withers.
Can you believe that?
[A]
[Bm] [Em]
And he really was an amazing acoustic guitar player you [A] know and I think and
that group of [D] all of that was just blows my mind.
Those [Em] guys that came from [A] you
know through, that was [D] the Byrds and Springfield and [Gm] all of that you know I
listened [A] to it a whole lot and kind of doing the [D] country rock thing that [G] had
shaped who, [A] what I do.
[G] [D]
Well I [A] actually watched the documentary.
[G] [D] It was about that scene in [A] particular
Crosby, Stills, Nash and [Gbm]
Neil Young [G] and just that whole vibe [A]
and they had,
[E] Stephen Stills was on there a bunch.
What an influence [A] he had.
When you think about
[Dbm] an entire [B] generation, it's [E] not just one song, it's not just one band, multiple
bands, [A] multiple records defining or a major part [Dbm] of defining [B] the 60s and into
the [A] 70s.
[E] I think people, I think people take that kind of talent and that kind
of [Bm] influence for granted.
To just do it once is one [Dbm] thing but to do [Bm] it multiple
times and [E] with such an impact man, [B] that's what [E] what I would wish for.
