Steel Panther - Behind The Music chords
Start Jamming...
The year was 1985 the place
[D#] Hollywood, California
The band Steel Panther was absolutely groundbreaking
[A#] Steel Panther kicks
[D#] Great on stage great [A] music.
They had it [D#] all going on
These guys are rock and roll and there they set the tempo for what we all do
Yeah, I mean whatever happened to those assholes
[N] What happened to those assholes indeed?
[G] [Fm] From the sordid streets of Hollywood [D#] for brash and not too bright young men [Fm] came together to form the greatest metal [F] band
You never heard.
This is a story of [Fm] heavy metal dreams wasted [D#] days and a destiny finally [Fm] fulfilled
20 years later.
This is Steel [D#] Panther
behind the [F#m] music
The [C#] [F#] [B]
[C#] [F#]
[C#] local band that [F#] everyone knew but nobody talked about didn't start out as your usual rock and roll [C#] band
And back in high school [A#] we used to hang out and just get [F#] high and you know, I [B] figured
Why not?
Hang out get [A#] high and get [E] laid
So we went down to the Guitar [F#] Center and we just took a vote [C#m] on who looked the coolest behind each instrument
[B] And I knew right at that point we [F#] have a sort of fucking bad, you know
Because the way we [B] look on stage you get fucking snatched every fucking night and what's more [D#m] important than getting pussy and from those humble
Beginnings Steel Panther started a heavy metal journey that baffled and enthralled the entire metal [E] community
I totally heard about him and the first time I saw him I was
[D] Fuck am I looking [D#m] at after seeing them on stage and the kind of energy that they [D#] had I called it my buddy Perry Farrell
I was like dude, you got to hear these guys.
I mean we were sitting in the audience.
We looked at each other
We were like, this is it and it blew our minds and we from that day forward
We decided to form Jane's addiction, let me tell you of all [E] the musicians I ever had the [B] pleasure of knowing
Steel [D#] Panther was by far the most filthy
degrading gangbang I ever took part in
[F]
Success came [A#] quickly for the spandex clad quartet some say too [F] quickly those other [A#] bands.
They were
[B] All the time
[G#]
Regular basis
[C#]
[C#m] Whether they [B] were jamming to sold-out shows [F#m] or jizzing on passed out groupies [E] Steel Panther had only [C#] one way to go
And that was up
[B] Well, you know at that point
[F#]
[B]
[G#] [Bm] The band hired their friend Michael Ockhurst as their new [G#m] manager
Ockhurst used his natural salesman abilities
He honed selling weed [A#] to convince all the [G#] labels to send their A&R departments to a Steel Panther showcase
These schmucks didn't know it at the time
They were [F] about to be signed [F#m] the most [C#] lucrative contract rock and roll history, [A#] but it never happened
Steel Panther never showed
The [C#] labels did however and signed Jane's addiction
The fact that they just kind of never showed up and vanished was to me probably the most metal move
They could have made apparently [A#] the managers said
For [F#] them to show up at the [C#] showcase to go to the showcase
[B]
They thought he [A#] said go get shit [C#] face that was a laugh how many buddy heard
[F#] No one knows exactly what happened [G#m] next Steel Panther
[C#] vanished
My money's [G#] on drugs.
I heard they were [F#] seriously in the acid [G#] like
Battery acid like like [F#] actual car battery acid that shit will fuck you up six ways to Sunday.
[G#] [F#] I
Still Panther phenomenon to be quickly faded into obscurity
[D#] When I was an intern at Atlantic Records, I heard about Steel Panther for the first time here.
We are in 2008
I'm now running [G#] Universal Republic and one day I get this mysterious package in [B] the mail.
I open it up
There's a disc.
So of course, I'm intrigued
[C#] I put it in and I'm here to tell you without question the best rock album
I've ever [G#] heard and it hits me like a bolt of lightning 20 [G#m] years ago to the day Steel Panther disappears
Dude, that's fucking freaky
[G#]
Could the music Monty [G#m] Lipman heard actually be Steel Panther only four men could answer that [N] question
[G#m] The new album delivered on the [D#] promise made 20 years earlier and Steel Panthers return once again shook the music industry
To its core.
It's a fucking heavy metal record when you hear it
It was a great [D#] fucking record it's the first real rock record in what
20 years Steel Panther more like steel balls area
It's to go where those guys went musically.
You gotta have balls of steel to me.
It was worth the 20-year [D] wait
That's crazy man 20 years to make a record.
It would do that
[A#] And so the Steel Panther story [F] continues with their epic soon-to-be-released CD as its [A#] latest chapter
But this story will continue
[C] Lexi Fox
Satchel sticks Zedina [B] and Michael Starr [C#] will go on like that never-ending story [D#] movie
But not as gay
[B]
[F#] [C#]
[F#] [C#]
[F#] [C#] [C#]
[F#] [C#] [F#]
[C#] [D#m] Fries I wanna [C#] take your chubby [D#m] ass.
That's [C#] my place
[F#] It's [C#] where my baby gravy
[F#] [C#]
[F#] [C#]
